Allentown College of St. Francis de Sales (Allentown, Penn.) recently established a Master of Business program to meet the needs of the future managers and executives in eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey. As part of the new M.B.A. program, Allentown College also appointed Tony Roth as the first incumbent of the Edward McCabe Chair in business and society. As the chair, Tony will teach courses concentrating on business ethics and the relationship between business and society, as well as coordinate dialogue between corporate and educational leaders in the area. Tony's background is a little more varied than most: he has been a bartender, deck hand on a shrimp boat, manager of organizational design with International Paper, management and quality improvement consultant, college professor, and author. His most recent work, Work and Rewards: Redefining Our Work Life Reality, addresses the need to change from a work ethic to a development ethic in corporate life. Tony has a Ph.D. in management from Wharton and a master's in social work from U. Penn. Tony, his wife, Wendy, and their two children live in Treichlers (it didn't make Rand McNally), Penn.

Still in the R's, Mike Rouzee recently made some waves by finishing third in his class in the 1991 Marion-to-Bermuda sailing race. Mike's boat, North Star, made the trip in three days and 21 hours. Had Dr. Roth been a deck hand, Mike's days and hours might well have been reversed, but the grog would have been superb.

The North Star's hull insurance may well have been handled by Corroon & Black, who recently promoted Wick Warrick to vice president of its Kendall Insurance Division in the Granite State. Wick, who has a M.B.A. from Columbia University, joined Kendall in 1978, specializes in commercial insurance sales, and is a certified insurance counselor. He and his wife, Elizabeth, live in Rye, N.H., and have three children.
