The first order of business is an apology to Austin Scudder Callaway. Inadvertently in the April issue we had some wrong information starting with the very spelling of the name and continuing to where Austin is now living. The correct information is that Austin is at 600 Quarterstaff Road, Winston-Salem, N. C. We apologize for this error and the inconvenience caused.
Belated congratulations to Robert Teaze who was recently appointed as acting city attorney in San Diego, Calif. Bob had been assistant city attorney until this appointment After graduating from Dartmouth Bob went to the University of California's Hasting School of Law and had been on the city attorney's staff since 1959.
We have recently learned that Allan Hall who serves at the St. Paul's School in Concord N. H., as director of the Advanced Studies Program, acting director of activities and director of studies has recently been named to the Board of Trustees at Monson Academy in Monson, Mass. Allan's academic eminence is not surprising when we remember that he was a Rufus Choate Scholar during his senior year at Dartmouth.
Our news information does sometimes lag and we learned that in February Richard A. Leary announced that he would be a candidate for the Hingham School Committee in the March 29th annual town elections. We do not know the results at this writing but certainly hope that they were successful. Dick is president and treasurer of Electrical Agencies, Inc. of Boston. He has taken a prominent role in civic activities over the past ten years having served for eight years in the Hingham Junior Baseball program, six years as a coach and two years as League Commissioner. He has also been active in the Hingham Youth Hockey Association serving as a coach for six years and one year as treasurer of the association. In addition he has been an active member for three years with the Hingham Chapter, American Field Service-Students Abroad Program. Dick and his wife Alice are the parents of seven children, one of whom Stephen is now a junior at Dartmouth. We have a very nice letter from Robert Bach. Bob for the past three years has served as varsity wrestling coach at the Wardlaw Country Day School in Plainfield, N. J. He has just been appointed to the newly created position of business administrator for the school and will assume his duties on June 1. The Wardlaw School has undergone a new building program and is one of the leading country day schools in New Jersey. After Dartmouth Bob did graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and at Temple University. He has been a recent president of the New Jersey Wrestling Officials' Association in addition to his coaching duties. Bob and his wife live with their two children, Del and Robin at 1108 Hillside Avenue, Plainfield, N. J. Bob is looking forward to sending some Wardlaw boys to Dartmouth. A note received from Julian Sayre informs us that he is now associated with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith as an account executive.
In a recent issue, we talked about DickMenin's son, Geoffrey and mentioned his appearance as a soloist with the Westchester Symphony Orchestra. Since that time a feature article in the White Plains newspaper really told us much more about this outstanding young man. His musical talents are diversified and include his participation as a rock organist cutting a record which was presented on an NBC-TV special entitled "New Trends in the Wilderness." He also plays the guitar and a number of percussion instruments. Geoffrey is in his senior year at White Plains High School and is a straight A student, also having been elected to the National Honor Society as a junior. In addition, he is an outstanding athlete having won the Pass, Punt and Kick contest for the City of White Plains at the age of 12. At the age of 13 he was named to the all-city 13-14-year-old baseball team and is currently a member of the White Plains High School varsity tennis squad. An average day for him includes three hours of tennis practice, four hours at the piano, two dates on the weekends and a straight A average that never waivers. Geoffrey's plans are for a concert career and it is obvious that we can expect it to be an outstanding one.

Thanks to Jim Holway who as we mentioned several months earlier was a Republican candidate for county council in Howard County, Md. Jim was kind enough to tell us though he led the Republican contingent he was fourth in the total race and as there were only three seats he did not win office. The biggest disappointment was to his tenyear-old son and campaign manager who has just about recovered. Thanks for bringing us up to date, Jim.

As you read this article, the last days of the Alumni Fund Drive will be on hand. If for any reason or other, you have not yet sent your annual contribution in please do so immediately, as there is very little time left and you are being counted on.
It is hard to believe that another year has passed and that this is the last news article until the October issue. Summer is always an interesting time, and we hope that all '47s will enjoy it. We will look forward to hearing from you in the fall with news of what you did this summer and whatever exciting events happened. There is one thought however regarding the fall that we would like to leave with you and that is plans for an informal reunion immediately after the Yale game in New Haven. We are going to make arrangements for a cocktail party and dinner which will include arrangements for children of all ages. The Yale game seems to be a perfect place to have this as so many people come from Boston, Philadelphia and New York, etc. We will send you more details at a later date but you might make a mental note of it now and plan to attend next fall.
