The social activity in and around Hanover involving numerous classmates is really something to be envied by out-of-towners. For example, Dris Huberth recently entertained the McKennans, Tanzers, and Leavitts for dinner. On that occasion mention was made of a certain bottle of wine at the Charter Day dinner. Dris surmised it was the same bottle she had delivered to John Dickey a year or so ago for Bob Misch who had picked it up in Europe. Then the Leavitts helped the McKennans celebrate their wedding anniversary and Bob's birthday which falls on the same day. Another occasion arose when Rad Tanzer surprised Velma on her birthday by taking the McKennans, Leavitts and the Dan Drurys '26 to dinner at the House of the Seven Gables in Hartford.
Ruth and Ralph Tucker recently returned from a nine-week trip to New Zealand (air-sea) and Australia and various points in between. Neither recognized the other, but by sparring about they finally got on the same team. Carl Smith, who has been busy in Augusta, Me., reports he's getting close to retirement decision and is planning to locate in Cutler, Me., where he has maintained a home "over the years" which "is ours." He hopes to spend the worst winter months in Florida. Bill Bunting retired from his laundry business last month and thinks it great. "More time for skiing and three months at the cottage next summer!"
Joe Antrim was pictured recently with Secretary of Agriculture Clifford M. Hardin at a briefing session on farm program policies and aims. It appears he's a member of Montana's newly appointed Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, whose function is to administer federal farm "action" programs in the areas of conservation, production adjustment and price support.
