John Jorgenson, elevated to executive vice-president and assistant treasurer of his plumbing firm, Parsons Bros., Inc., Bridgeport, Conn., earlier in '69 has had his talents recognized by the banking field as the City Trust Co. (Bridgeport) appointed him to the advisory committee of the bank's west side office. John and Doris, along with their two children, live in Trumbull, Conn.
Giving an example of the many problems that can hinder loyal '45s in their trek to the Terrific Twenty-fifth, Al Russell reports: "Most important news item from here is that our daughter is competing in the state Miss America pageant in Davenport (Iowa). Since this occurs the week before reunion, it may cause some problems for us to make it, but we are sure going to try." College graduations, high school diplomas, business jaunts and professional responsibilities, to say nothing of Miss America pageants are only small obstacles, men - '45 out, get your reservations in to Caravatt et al., your curriculum vitae into the Skakles and head for the Hanover plains in June!!
From Dun & Bradstreet in New York City comes word that Knox Armstrong been named Executive Vice President of one of their subsidiaries, Dun & Bradstreet Publications Corporation, which publishes "Dun's Review" and "Exporters' Encyclopaedia." Until recently he was publisher of "Chemical Week," owned by McGraw-Hill, and he had previously served as advertising sales manager of that publication. He and Marion, with their two children, make their home at 201 Chesfnut Ridge Rd., Saddle River, N. J.
Rumor hath it that Jack Holmes and Dave Mott got together in Birmingham, Mich., and took each other's photo for the 25th year book. Jack's photo was received by the editors, but, at last report, Dave's is still among the missing — we trust that the oversight has been remedied, Dave.
Ev Goltra's new title is vice commander, aerospace medical division - well, if there's going to be a vice commander, 'tis only fitting that a '45 should get the title. And still on the subject of medical titles, JimDickson is director, engineering in biology and medicine, National Institutes of General Medical Science, National Institute of Health. Jim, Nancy and their three children live in McLean, Va.
Still active as ski instructors at Auburn, Maine's Lost Valley development, Dick and Mary Kendall are proudly watching their son Bob's feats in the FIS championships in Czechoslovakia this winter.
From the '19 newsletter comes the item that Buzz Farrar is still in Chicago with a wife, two high school daughters, a private practice in obstetrics and gynecology and an appointment as assistant professor in that specialty at Northwestern Medical School. Buzz and his two brothers recently helped their folks ('19) celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary.
Here and there John Foster is now based in New York City running his own show as resources consultant in engineering and industrial geology.... Bob Rogers, living in Bellevue, Wash., is executive vicepresident of Lands West, Inc.... Dick Fuller has left Time, Inc. and is assistant to the president of the Musical Arts Association.... Herb Boedtker, forsaking New Canaan, Conn., is calling Caracas, Venezuela home in his new position with Westinghouse.
