Please rest assured that your money is in good hands! Our Treasurer, John Demas, was in Chicago recently visiting ArthurAnderson's office. We had a long talk over lunch during which he revealed the details of how he is able to communicate with all of us, keep track of our funds, etc. It's worth reiterating that not all of us are able to pay class dues; nevertheless, every classmate receives the Alumni Magazine. John has made excellent progress at A. A. He has been assigned to the New York office since he started in 1959. A steady progression has carried him to the rank of partner. He specializes in utilities work with line responsibility for representing the firm to a number of large companies. He followed up the luncheon by sending me a number of news items from the dues slips. This was a lifesaver for me.
Rog Young is now living at Vienna, Va. from which he commutes to FBI headquarters. Warren Girard is Asst. Foreign Editor of the Los Angeles Times. Still a bachelor, he is "fighting off starlets.' Enough said? Chuck Carpenter has returned to Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston after a year as Visiting Professor in London. Frank Chase penned an especially interesting note: "We've been in San Rafael since July, leasing the home of a husband-wife teaching team who have taken themselves and family to Europe on sabbatical. I'm on a special assignment in San Francisco for a year as part of an HEW management development program. Uncle Sam has a big stake in spurring a better system for delivering health care everywhere, but most certainly here in California where the dollars spent are almost incredible. I'll be working in this specialized area until the first of '72 when I'll be switching to another desk in the office of the Regional Commissioner of the Social Security Administration. This represents a tremendous satisfaction to me as I've been hung up on the Bay Area since service time at Monterey. Think maybe Carol and daughter Amy have also caught the fever. If I'm any sort of bureaucrat, given a year's time, I should be able to screw something up badly enough to make myself indispensable and we would then never return to the Balto.-Wash. area. Will be working with three or four Marin County high schools in Dartmouth enrollment liaison work."
