The 73rd Alumni Fund goal is set at 3 million. This year '05 made second place, a very creditable record. The six top veteran classes are: Ist, 1900 with 966 per cent and a total of $6,869; 2nd, 1905 with 538 per cent, $9,790; 3rd, 1907 with 468 per cent, $17,470; 4th, 1902 with 369 per cent, $2,814; 5th, 1906 with 344 per cent, $3,875; 6th, 1904 with 312 per cent, $2,198.
Our football season has opened with two victories: Dartmouth 24, University of New Hampshire, 10; Dartmouth 17, Holy Cross

A very fine letter from John Furfay '44, son of our John, tells of his move to 1600 Long Valley Road, Evanston, Ill. 20025. He wished to be remembered to all 'O5 men and hopes to retire in ten years and return to New England.
Charles D. Hodgman is spending October with his daughter at Cornell and his son in Cleveland. Early in November he will return to Milford. He enjoys the New England winters and has very nice neighbors who keep an eye on him.
Our Trustees will meet in Hanover at the time of the Princeton game, combining work and pleasure.
Ethel Lillard still enjoys the Dartmouth '05 news. She is our second oldest widow. Mary Wilkins is our oldest, born in March, 1882.
John Bell has moved from Hillsboro to Unity, N. H., and the Sullivan County Home. His daughter lives in Washington, N. H., and'visits him frequently. John is making a brave struggle against old age.
C. C. Hills keeps up with the Dartmouth news. He maintains the same address, Hotel Suwanneee, St. Petersburg, Fla. He is much interested in whether the Howe Library, operated by the Town of Hanover, will be able to raise enough money to use the DKE house as an addition to the library.
Fred Chase hopes to leave for Florida in November. Mrs. Scales and her son Arthur Lord and Steve Chase's '96 widow are already at Dunedin.
Maude Harding is back in Wellesley after a summer at their family house at Cape Cod.
My granddaughter Judy Gray was married October 7 in the Mary Martha Chapel to Steven J. Adolphson. The reception was at the Wayside Inn, Sudbury, Mass. Steven graduated from Ripon College and works for Mutual Benefit Insurance They will live in Salem.
"Mildred Putnam announces the marriage of her daughter Priscilla Mentunick Wilson to William Daniel Carroll. They will be living in Irvington, N. Y.
