My apologies to the Class for missing the deadline for the February issue; but hope the news was not too stale for March.
Recent news includes the fact that Lew English is back on skis. His wife Connie writes that he broke his ankle skiing December 31, 1971, spent three months in various casts and was back on skis December 30,1972. Lew and Connie's daughter Betsy (their youngest) is being married in March to Jack Sheffield of Stonington, Conn. Son Andy is still at the University of Massachusetts and daughter Sue works at Eastern Mountain Sports in Boston. Sticking with the Northeast - and for those who may have mis- sed it in Herb Marx' Clanging Bells - John and Fran Goode bought the Chieftan Motel in September and are enjoying the Hanover scene.
Out on the West Coast, Jim and ClarisseAdams spent a sunny week at the Crosby Clambake in Pebble Beach, at which Jim saw PercyRideout and Chub Feeney. Back here in ashington, Frank Williams has again rebuilt his Chevrolet dealership, having moved into the new "tiding on December 1 and leasing the old one to another company. As Frank says: "At today's wilding costs we had better both be successful if I am to pay for new one before 2100 A.D." rank and Cissy's children include daughter Emiy (Duke '70) working for the White House personnel people; Frank Jr. who went to Davidson for a year, enlisted in the 82nd Airborne and is now a cadet at West Point; and Marianne, a sophomore at Montgomery College in suburban
Speaking of service academies reminds me that I ran into Captain Bill Alexander, U.S.N.-Ret., at a neighborhood cocktail party. Bill left Dart- mouth to enter Annapolis after his freshman year and snuck into the neighborhood without my realizing it, although our respective wives have been in local activities together. Also ran into BobField at lunch here a few weeks back when he was down from New York on a one day trip.
Class treasurer Paul Young is pleading for payment of class dues, a bargain at $10. Paul writes that Bud Lasser and Judge Barlow have already signed up for rooms for the Fall Reunion on October 12-13; that Church and Dottie Leonard hope to have the Class stop at their house for a "tailgating" party before the game; and that Edand Dottie Lider are planning a Brunch Party at their new house in the Eastman development just off 1-89 in Grantham, N. H. A word to the wise: start planning now.
Keep the news flowing.
