At the Department of Justice in Washington, the new Deputy Attorney General is LaurenceH. (Larry) Silberman. Larry was sworn in on March 13. You will recall that he resigned as Under Secretary of Labor in January, 1973, to join Steptoe and Johnson, a Washington law firm. Now he has returned to the Administration. Congratulations, Larry!

Bob Smith, who is also a lawyer, recently joined Guggenheimer & Untermyer, a New York City law firm.

Greg Home has been named associate professor (with tenure) of earth and environmental science at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. Greg was a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey and the Tidewater Oil Company before returning to his studies to earn a Ph.D. at Columbia. He was appointed to the Wesleyan faculty in 1968 and subsequently broadened the geology major to include the study of earth and environmental science. Greg's published research deals with the tectonic history of regions bordering the Atlantic Ocean, particularly Newfoundland and Central America, where he has done extensive field research.

Dr. Frederick Brown specializes in nephrology (kidney disease) and is an associate at the Geidinger Medical Center, a 100-physician group practice in Danville, Pa. Fred earned his M.D. at the University of Pittsburgh Medical School. After four years of internship and residency, he started an artificial kidney unit at the University of Utah, and then came back east. Fred says his job "is part of my way of life ... not something I do 8 to 5 for a living. I like this." He plays the piano for community shows, and the organ in church. Fred, his wife Jean, and their two children live in Riverside, Pa.

John Cusick recently returned to AT&T in New York City as sales manager, after six years as the president of Architectural Specialties, Inc., a privately-owned modular housing company in upstate New YOrk. "We have left an 18th century farm house with 18 acres to return to the commuter's life," John writes. "I may need a refresher course in 'values' very soon." John, Tebby, and their two children are now living in Basking Ridge, N.J.

"The most interesting part of my job is 'the production of a credible, listenable and responsible news broadcast and the contact with community and government officials.' " The man who says that is Russ Barry, who is vice president and general manager of KNXT-TV (CBS) in Los Angeles. After Dartmouth, Russ attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School and then worked for Ted Bates Advertising for three years. He has been in radio and television with CBS for the past 13 years. Russ is involved in a variety of community projects and organizations in Los Angeles. The Barry family lives in the Brentwood area of L.A.

Scott Tuttle is in commercial real estate sales with Jackson-Cross Company Realtors in Philadelphia. He was previously in sales with Xerox. Scott is a member of the board and a past president of the Savoy Company, the country's oldest Gilbert and Sullivan operetta company. A bachelor, Scott enjoys photography and ornithology. He lives in St. Davids, Pa.

Scott also reports that John and Ann Blades are warming bottles and changing diapers - their first child, a girl, was born in January in London. The Blades recently transferred from London to Paris, where John is a marketing honcho for Vick International S.A.A toast to all three Blades ... Would you believe the Class of '96?

The class pledge drive for the 1974 Alumni Fund is moving right along according to Head Class Agent Dick Canton, and much of the credit must go to Dick's 14 hard-working regional agents: Dick Perkins (N.H., Vt., Me.); George Johnston (Mass., R.I.); John Hagearty (Mass., Conn.); John Citron (Westchester County, N.Y.); Bob Smith (N.Y. City and Long Island); Gordie Derzon (N.J.); Jack Hall (N.J., Md„ Del.); Jim Ventura (N.Y.); Jigger Harper (Pa., D.C.); Dick van Riper (Southeast); DickNewkirk (Midwest); Larry Blades (Midwest); Don Burkhardt (Col., Id); and Jim Dalton (Calif., Wash.). These guys have a big and an important job - you can make that job pay off by pledging your gift now and sending it to the College by June 30.
