The handsome character in the picture is NelsJones who has won the "Outstanding Agency Award" for Connecticut General Life field offices. It's a long way from White River Jet., Vt. where Nels grew up, but with that big smile and his Vermont accent he was destined to be a winner. Nels has been with the company ever since graduation and has been head of the Springfield, Mass., office since 1968. He has won this honor for five straight years in competition with 101 other offices. It is the highest annual honor the company presents to field offices. Nels and Beatrix and their three sons live in Wilbraham. They also have a second home near Quechee Gorge, Vt.
And Bill Lyon has been promoted to area manager, specialties, with A. E. Staley's industrial products group. He will be responsible for sales of Staley food starches and related food ingredients throughout Chicago and surrounding areas in seven states. Bill began with Staley in 1967 and most recently held the position of a major account sales manager. He and Marilyn are the parents of four sons, ages 13 to four.
Chuck Hulsebosch is now vice presisent, finance, at Libby McNeill & Libby. He had been vice president, treasuret, since joining the Chicago food company in 1969 and will continue to handle these duties in his new capacity. Previous positions for Chuck were as treasurer of United Fruit Company in Boston and as controller for Renault in New York. He and Betsy are the parent of seven children, ranging in age from 15 to six and including only one daughter, Kristin.
Lyn Brock, president of Brock and Company Philadelphia-based food vending service, was elected in April the president of Philadelphia Rotary Club, fourth largest of Rotary Internalal's 16,000 clubs. Lyn is a member and officer of many community, charitable, and business organizations and will bring this experience to directing the club's engagement in further community endeavors through the Rotary Foundation of Philadelphia, Inc., a non-profit charitable organization.
Monk and Pat Spencer and family moved tp London, England, last July. They expect to be there for three to five years.
John French was recently appointed to Westchester County Planning Board. John very active as an environmentalist and will certainly assure that all projects approved by the board are sound.
