If you have been thinking of coming back for a football game, this would be a good season. A lot of action has been planned.

For the Penn game in Hanover, October 11, we have arranged room accommodations at the Village Condotel, Killington, Vt., there will be a cocktail party and dinner after the game at the Lake Morey Inn, Fairlee, Vt. TomNapoleon is arranging the details.

Fred England and Bill Breed are arranging another spectacular '52, '53, and '54 affair in Cambridge for the Harvard game, October 25. There's a picnic before the game next to the Watson Hockey Rink. Afterwards there is a cocktail party and dinner at the Harvard Club of Boston.

The following week there will be a pre-game picnic directly across from Yale Bowl. Also, Tom Bloomer and Fred Carleton are again running their annual chartered bus from Greenwich.

"The Day At The Play and Picnic" organized by George Sarner went off as scheduled on July 12. Ron Lazar, Marty DeGennaro, and DonSmith were there. A small turn-out ... but loads of fun had by all.

Ron Lazar and his stalwart class agents did a fantastic job raising over $72,000 from 509 contributors. This was a significant increase from last year and was achieved during a period that put us all through the economic crunch. It's unbelievable that the Class of 1954 beat us in the Green Derby, but wait 'till next year.

We received a lot of news over the summer:

Van Cochran's wife gave birth to a girl, Linsay, back in April. Van also received the Nicholas Andry Award for Orthopedic Research; and he was reelected a director of the Explorer's Club.

Shirley and Jim Kiley announced the birth of their first, James Edward, in July.

Ed Rose's mother wrote that he was volunteering at the U.S. Embassy in Saigon last April. He was only able to get himself out on one of the last helicopters and then via the USS Okinawa to Subic Bay in the Philippines. Hopefully we will hear more from Ed about the details.

Jack Tukey has been elected a senior vice president at Leo Burnett Advertising Agency in Chicago. His daughter Meg will be attending Colby College this fall.

Phil Beekman has been appointed president of Colgate-Palmolive International, Inc. Phil has been in the international area practically through out his entire time with CP. International accounts for more than half of the company's profits.

Fred Stephens, our fearless leader, had been vice president of marketing for the Safety Razor Division of Gillette. This summer he moved over to the Buxton Division to serve as acting president due to the ill health of the top man. They manufacture leather goods. Now, Fred has been appointed president of Gillette of Canada, Ltd.

On the other hand, and on the opposite side of the country, Urb Schreiner has moved his company from San Francisco to Palo Alto to avoid the commute. He now rides his bicycle to the office when business doesn't take him out of town. He is very active as a municipal bond attorney in California, Nevada, and occasionally Hawaii and Alaska.

One last note, there will be a class meeting before the Harvard game at the Fenway Cambridge Motor Hotel. It is open to all. We look forward to seeing you there.
