And so the Summer of '75 is behind us! Now the leaves are turning; and the Big Green eleven is looking toward an Ivy title.

During the past six months, a lot of very exciting things have been happening to some of our classmates. Major Bob Worthington (58 Green Briar, De Ridder, La. 70634), a recent transplant from El Paso, Texas. In addition to his involvement on the class executive committee, he is the chief of the clinical psychology section, mental hygiene service, Fort Polk, La., as well as a community psychologist involved in consultation and development of community resources programs. With his wife Anita he is also working on various public school programs. I guess that's to insure that his three girls (Susan, Julie and Karen) get a good education. So, although Bob lives in a small, rural southern farming/logging community. Bob has found time to help the school as well as his community.

Then there's Alan Ziegler (626 Corwin Road, Rochester, N.Y. 146100) who is a division chairman of the United Community Chest; the finance chairman of the Episcopal Diocese; and a co-chairman of the PTA. In his spare time, Al is the director of the pension department of Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company as well as vice president and principal of Futures Funding Corporation, who are employee benefit consultants, administrators, and actuaries. Such a dull life, All! Last fall, midst it all, he and his wife Trina were able to see the Ohio Stae vs. Blackman-led Indiana football game in Columbus, Ohio, with Charlie Tell (100 East Broad Street, Suite 1800, Columbus 43215) and WhitEvans (2214 Delamere Drive, Cleveland Heights, 44106).

And from somewhere in a small town called Higganum, Conn., we hear that Charlie Steinhacker (address unknown) had a photographic exhibit entitled "The American Landscape; A Bicentennial Exhibition" at the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, Conn. Charlie was quoted in the Hartford Times as saying that the exhibit celebrates the "grandeur and diversity of the American landscape after 200 years of hard living." Now, if we could only hear from Charlie to see how he has been after 16 years of hard shooting!

Then there are alumni who have succeeded recently after their 16 years of labor. Jim Earner (316 Richard Rd., Naperville, Ill. 60540) has been named division vice president for Northern Illinois Gas Company's West Central Division. (Jim is also a ruling elder of the Knox Presbyterian Church; now that's a way to keep wife Linda and kids Susan, Virginia, and James Jr. in line!) Then, the University of Oregon has recently named a new dean of the College of Liberal Arts - John Baldwin (Eugene, Oregon 94703). A university official states, "The appointment of a distinguished scientist of the international stature of Dr. Baldwin ensured a period of strong leadership and stability in the College of Liberal Arts." Or, look at what North American Life Assurance Company's president, D. W. Pretty, said recently: "Terry Troy (1427 Edgecumbe, St. Paul, Minn. 55116) has earned the highest distinction in our company as the leader in sales and service of individual life insurance during 1974 and is North American Life's 'Man of the Year.' I'm sure his wife Issy and his four children are very proud of dad.

And, finally, in the promotion arena, Harry Shaw (2178 Highland Oaks, Arcadia, Cal 91006) has been named president and general manager of the California Bicycle Division, the Huffman Manufacturing Company, Azusa, Calif., this past spring. And that's something his wife Phoebe and three children can be proud of. Harry joined Huffman in 1969 and held various marketing positions before becoming vice president, marketing, in 1974.

One of our more active class members - Allan Munro (7 Eastwoods Drive, Box 463, Cold Springs Harbor, N.Y. 11724) - is now the executive vice-president of Greenwich Research Associates, a business consulting firm. Of course, there is a little bit of nepotism, in that Randy Malin (55 Scenic Drive, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. 10706) is on the Board of Directors!

Then there are those of us who always wanted to be in show business, but have been too busy to do so. Not so of Dick Press (16 E. 44th St., N.Y., N.Y. 10017). While directing the New York J. Press full-time during the day, he has been spending many evenings and some weekend matinees as an actor. Last year he was graduated from the two year evening course at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Dick has appeared in several off-Broadway "Equity Showcases," the most recent of which was the leading role ina revival of the old comedy, "Abie's Irish Rose." Several reviews called it a "confident production" ... "one of the surprising pleasures of the season." TV News said that "Richard Press in the role of the Jewish father shone with affectionate humor." ShowBusiness, a trade paper, said, "Richard Press has a magnetic and endearing quality." They're all on the mark! I know! Just watch Dick at any football game or Dartmouth get-together (at which he regularly attends). Talk about affectionate humor!!!!

One final note regarding the Alumni Fund. I know you have all received correspondence from Mike Hellman regarding the final status of the 1975 fund drive. I just wanted to add a note of congratulation, since 1975 saw our class collect more funds in a non-reunion year than ever before. We did fall short of our dollar and participation goal, but we hope to be addressing those problems next year. All in all, though, we should be proud.

Hopefully, we'll be seeing some of you at the football games. We plan to have a lot of fun and hope that you will be able to share it.
