Our earlier columns missed one of the great highlights of the summer, a two-column picture of Dr. Bob Pallatroni in the New Bedford, Mass., Standard-Times. The occasion for this photograph was Bob's loss in the 24th annual Invitation Fourball in the local golf club. Bob, who earned his Ph.D. in psychology and has been head of the Psychology Department at Southeastern Massachusetts University, apparently couldn't out-psych his opponents. The newspaper write-up, however, gave him credit for "great play."

It's apparent that Bob hasn't spent all his time playing golf, even though his golf score looks like he has. Another recent article in the same newspaper read as follows: "Dr. Robert Pallatroni was honored by Psychology Department students" upon his relinquishing the Chairmanship of the Psychology Department. Apparently, Bob is having a very positive effect upon the student body of Southeastern Massachusetts University.

Speaking of newspaper articles, a recent article in The Wall Street Journal quoted DickDanforth. The article, discussing citizen involvement in decision making relative to the expenditure of federal grants in the city, quoted Dick in his capacity of deputy community development commissioner of Buffalo. We must admit that Buffalo's use of the federal funds for portable toilet facilities certainly indicates a desire to get back to basics. Dick's statement, "We're probably the only city in the country that is applying for outhouses," will probably find few dissenters. But it's nice to know the officials of Buffalo care!

A long article in the advertising column of the September 15 issue of The New York Times highlighted the career of Tom Myers. We quote:

"Thomas K. Myers, a 43-year-old advertising man who came up on the client side, is ending his second year as president and chief operating officer of Norman, Craig & Kummel confident that he is delivering the growth and profitability demanded by the agency's parent company and its chief, Norman B. Norman.

"When he came into the job from executive vice president the domestic operation was billing some $69-million. This year, he says, the billings will be more than $80-million, constituting just over 40 per cent of the volume of Norman, Craig & Kummel International. . . .

"Also since 1973 the agency has set up NCK Sports, a division specializing in advertising sports products, and Frix Productions, a fivemonth-old film production unit that has already produced 11 commercials for clients.

"NCJ Sports, Mr. Myers believes, is unique in the business. Its clients are Bancroft Sporting Goods and the Ram Golf Corporation, both recently acquired subsidiaries of Colgate-Palmolive, N.C.& K.'s major client; Penfold by Anne Klein, women's sports clothes manufacturer, and Women Sports magazine.

"The unit is billing about $4-million a year, Mr. Myers says."

Tom has been with the agency since 1966. His career began with Colgate-Palmolive after getting his M.B.A. at Harvard. After six years with Colgate in England, he came back to the States and joined the Jello Division of the General Foods Company until he joined Norman, Craig & Kummel. Apparently, Tom has had a rewarding career in advertising and is continuing to make a name for himself.

The new Alumni Council roster lists two '54s among its members. Bob Adnopoz has been elected to represent District 4 of the New England States. Bob and Jean live in New Haven and have a daughter at Dartmouth.

Grant (Joe) Gruel has been elected to represent District 2 of the Central States region. Joe is practicing law in Grand Rapids, Mich. He and Mary Ann and their three children live there.

That about covers us for now. We're sadly in need of news. How about letting us know what's going on.
