We have little to report this month; it seems almost everyone in the Class has been too busy giving to the Alumni Fund to do anything else.
When the Reynolds Scholarship winners were announced in March, Tom Lane was at the top of the list. Tom will use his stipend to do thesisrelated research on classical Greek tragedy in Paris.
Ron Hoffmaster has left W. C. Fields' favorite city to become director of personnel and civil defense in East Providence, R.I. We have it on good authority that the civil defense portion of the job consists of guarding two million stale crackers kept in a fallout shelter.
Our wedding of the month is that of MikeEverett and Martha Ford, in January in LaCanada, Calif. Mike and Martha (an Occidental College graduate) are living in New York City, where Mike was recently admitted to practice as an attorney.
Bob Schnabel's class dues cards brought to our attention the fact that many '71s are now parents. While we have been remiss in printing birth announcements, we haven't gotten many which included details such as sex and name. We, therefore, invite all parents and friends of parents to send us names, birthdays, and news of their children, which we will print in a gala baby column next fall.
The Class extends its sympathy to the family of Mike Feldman, who died in a tragic accident in April. An obituary appears elsewhere in this issue.
