Class treasurer Paul Babcock, the fellow who asks us for our annual dues, is in the news himself. Paul has been named administrative assistant to the president of New England Deaconess Hospital, Boston, responsible for long-range planning. Paul, who is completing work on his M.B.A. at Northeastern, has been manager of ambulatory services at the hospital for five years.

Some strong bonds between Hanover and Texas are being formed. We've reported that Rick MacMillan and Kris Clarke (Tom's sister)

were married last June and are living in Houston. Last April Paul Doscher married Lin Campbell of Houston in Dallas, and they now live in Hanover. Then there's Bob Baird who married Ann Sidor of Houston in Denton, Texas, last May. And yes, they're living in Houston.

Dr. Stanley Hobbs, author or co-author of 17 technical papers and holder of three patents, has been appointed manager of structural plastics projects at the General Electric Research and Development Center in Schenectady. He will direct seven scientists studying the modification and physical properties of high polymers.

Larry Goss has left the chairmanship of the Department of Geography at SUNY-Oswego to become director of the coastal zone management program for the State of New Hampshire.

. . . The Rev. Gaylord Hitchcock is now curate of St. John's Church, Norristown, Penn. . . . Dr.Richard Olsen, an assistant professor of biochemistry at the University of California, Riverside, has been awarded an Alfred P. Sloan fellowship for basic research. Olsen, who received a Sloan scholarship while at Dartmouth, is currently involved in research aimed at expanding knowledge of neuromuscular disease and the use of drugs for treatment of mental disease.

Peter Hargraves is working as international loan officer in the Mideast-Far East territory for the Connecticut Bank & Trust Company in Hartford. . . . Dick Naylor denies that he is conducting geological surveys in the South Pacific, as previously reported, and states that he is working for the minerals division of "an oil company" looking for copper in Central America, based in Costa Rica. . . . KevinTrainor is practicing law with the firm of Walker and Kennedy in Twin Falls, Idaho.

Doctors, many doctors. Dr. Rod Prior is associated with the Rural Group Practice in Farmington, Maine, and is fixing up a 150-year-old house. . . . Dr. Francis Renna is now associate chief of dermatology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, has three children - Christopher, 6, Mathew, 4, Kevin, 1½ - and a wife, Pam, who teaches modern dance part-time at Boston College.

Dr. Jeff Brown and Claudia have two children - Amy, born this April, and Adam, 2. Jeff has a private family medicine practice in Los Gatos, Calif., near San Jose. . . . Dr. David Harris is in the Department of Pathology at Blodgett Memorial Hospital, Grand Rapids, Mich.

Dr. Pete Tuxen has completed four years of a general surgery residency and will begin a fellowship in intestinal surgery this month in Bethesda, Md. . . . Next month Dr. Yanek Chiu starts work in the Department of Surgery at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn.
