Last month I mentioned the exceptionally mild and pleasant weather we enjoyed this fall in Hanover. Well things are back to normal. Several subzero periods intermingled with periodic snow and rain storms. All you good classmates in the Deep South can start your annual period of gloating over your short sleeve climate.

Thoughts of balmy weather makes me think of the College's newest and greatest addition, the Rupert Thompson arena. Whether watching hockey or basketball, it is about as pleasant as one could ask for and "yes" balmy! It is really a magnificant physical plant and a quantum leap forward especially when compared to the former Davis hockey rink for both the players and spectators. The quality of the action also seems to have improved as both the hockey and basketball teams are off to an impressive start this season.

I guess the Christmas season has been a busy one for everyone including your secretary. So with class news as sparse as binkinis on Occom Pond in January, I will bid you all best wishes for a happy and prosperous new year.
