A big thank-you from the College and from our own Burt Lowe for the excellent showing 1916 made in the 1977 Alumni Fund. We came in second in the Green Derby with a grand total of $19,761.
Postscripts from the 13 who were in Hanover for the post-50th reunion and our 61st - a double delight to have as entertainer the grandson of our DeWitt Stillman, Rick '77. After viewing the latest communication replay device demonstrated by President Kemeny, it was a disappointing letdown to have the microphone and loud speaker unit fail absolutely so that few could hear the after-dinner speech. After-dinner speeches at this reunion, and at previous reunions, were much too long.
Hiram and Laura McLellan have kept the secretary in touch during their tour of the Capes and Russia. They are back in Tyler, Tex.', now.
Our long green line of the Class gets shorter and shorter each year. In June Dan Olson died. Dan will be remembered as one of our faithful members of the Dartmouth Band during our four years in Hanover. A memorial for Dan will be in one of the coming issues of the MAGAZINE.
Our line of 1916 ladies is smaller by the death at Athens, Ga., in June of Karl Shedd's widow, Polly.
