Greetings to all. Hope everyone enjoyed the summer. Yours truly is now located in Key Biscayne, Fla., so where I invited all leaf freaks and ski bums to my former abode in Vermont, I am extending same to all sun worshippers and beach bums to my condo here. The whole concept of moon over Miami amuses me.

Before trekking south, I spent a weekend in Hanover with Sandy Shapiro (a Miami native). Sandy was addressing a sports medicine conference on the benefits of a forearm splint that he is producing. The splint is designed to eliminate tennis elbow. He has enlisted BobCahners to help him market the product in the New England area. (Bob is relating his expertise on bar elbow to tennis elbow.)

While in Hanover, I bumped into CharlieHenderson who is a '62-'64. He was reuning with the '62s and, as he tells it, probably with the '64s. Charlie still doesn't know what class he belongs to, and his diploma is in Latin, so that's no help as far as dates are concerned. Charlie, coincidentally, has moved to Miami also (from Connecticut) where he is in the pension investment business.

I have been talking to Don Kubit on the phone down here and he has left the University of Miami (where he was a big-gun administrator) and entered the law profession. It was Don's pull that got me into the graduate school of business administration down here. It was his pull and my high scores: pulse rate 85, blood pressure 120/80. As long as I could prove I was alive and a friend of Don's, I was in.

Now for some world-wide news. A news release from Gulf Oil Corp. reads as follows: Chubby 'Weiler - I mean Pete Luitweiler - formerly regional vice president-Western Europe, Africa, Mid East (in London) has been named vice president of planning and strategic studies (in Pittsburgh). Pete has been with Gulf since 1965.1 think this is a great tribute to Pete, since with the world running out of oil, some strategic study is necessary. (Pete, may I suggest a strategy where you study emplolyment in an industry that is not running out of a product.) Pete and Marlene had a baby girl this past year while in London. They named her Gayle Elizabeth in honor of the Queen of England. (I didn't know the Queen's first name was Gayle.)

A news release from Texas Tech: WilliamDanby was one of ten recipients of a $7000 fellowship presented by a grant from Mrs. Helen DeVitt Jones of Lubbock, Tex. These Jones Fellowships were awarded to students in the college's Leadership Fellows Doctoral Program. This program emphasises quality and leadership training in education and it enables doctoral students to pursue their studies with less financial stress. Bill is presently director of the Adult Development Center in Bentonville, Ark. He previously served as health and social services planner for the Department of Community Development in Texarkana, Ark. He majors in special education.

From the Rutland (Vt.) Herald: Pat Terenzini, director of research for Syracuse University office of student affairs, was one of 51 members of the S.U. faculty promoted May 13. He was promoted from assistant to associate professor of higher education in the School of Education. Pat and his wife Carol have a daughter (no details given).

From New Hampshire: Lookwood Barr was recently appointed principal for Barrington Elementary School. Lookwood, a graduate student in administration at U.N.H., has been granted a one-year contract while he fulfills internship requirements for his degree. He and his wife Ingrid have two children, Alexander and Katie, and are currently living in Durham, N.H.

John Lane's wife Betsy writes as follows: "We have just completed the first half of a two-year assignment in Jakarta, Indonesia, where John is president of P. T. Merincorp, a merchant bank which is a joint venture between his bank, Morgan Guaranty Trust Co. of N.Y., and a Japanese, Dutch, and Indonesian bank. Our son Alexander is seven and Nicholas, four. Regards to all."

Now for the grand finale: Bard and BarbaraEvans announced the birth of twin boys on June 24, 1977. Timothy Merrill and Mathew Reid made the scene and was Barbara relieved.

See y'all later, hear?
