The news this month is thinner than the hair on top of the heads of half the Class. So, to start with, here are the names of more expected reunees in June: Andy Caffrey, Charlie Clarke,Kelly Coffin, John Conn, Al Coons, Brad Cole,Forbes Delany, Charlie Does, Jim Doucette,Charlie Donovan, and Bob Dunn.
We are sending on to Herb Marx for inclusion in the Clanging Bells a long and informative article on Warren Preece who was editor-in-chief of the recent edition of Britannica. Warren is now vice chairman of the board of editors and lives in North Orange, Mass. He and Deborah have three children: Scott who is married, a Dartmouth graduate, and employed in computer sciences in Champagne, Ill.; Mark, also a Dartmouth graduate who attended Ox- ford University and is studying for the ministry at an Episcopal divinity school in Cambridge; and daughter Thayer, a senior and music major at Middlebury. We commend the article to the readers of Clanging Bells.
Additional 35th reunion attendees include Peggy winters Everett, Bob Field, Doc Fielding,Tuss Hand, Frank Hartmann, Jim Hooker, and Phil Jackson.
Speaking of Frank Hartmann, our class president, Beaunit Corporation has announced his appointment to the position of president of the nylon division as part of the restructuring of that company. Frank's previous service to the company was as senior vice president of marketing, fibers division, with total marketing responsibility for Beaunit Fibers, and prior to that he was vice president, home furnishings marketing.
The last group of June attendees includes Martin Kane, John Keefe, John Koslowski, Hud King, John Pritchard, Dave Proctor, Bob Telren, Relly Raffman, Don Reich, John Robinson, Dick Rudolph, Warren Taylor, Binny Tower, Mike Thurston, and Paul Young. (Howie Thomas writes that "Sierra Leone is too far from Hanover and 1977 isn't a leave year for us. See you at the 40th.") That ends the list of those who have advised Don Reich to date of a firm purpose of attendance.
We close on a sad note, namely, that BurtonHooker passed away on February 6 last year. Word was only just received from Burton's brother Robert, 105 Edgewood Rd., Westwood, Maine 02090, who advised that Burton's ashes are in the family plot in Bradford, Vt. We shall try to have more information in the obituary section in the near future.
