This month we've got a special treat. In addition to the customary doses of timely and current events (let's call 'em new news) we've got a large helping of not-so-timely and not-so-current events (right - old news).

The reason for an abundance of old news was the discovery of a cache of information rich with accomplishment - unfortunately all are at least one year old. From these, however, our staff of experts has extracted bits and pieces of family and professional data which may still be reasonably accurate and of interest.

And, now, the old news: At last report two of our foreign service officers were facing tough assignments. Jim Cason was serving as principal officer at the U.S. Consulate in Maracaibo, Venezuela, the area from which a large percentage of our oil is imported. And Allen Keiswetter had been named an "essential" person at the U.S. Embassy in embattled Beirut, Lebanon, and, as economic officer, has not been evacuated.

Chuck Benson has two daughters, Maria and Yemenia Jasmin, born June 29, 1975.... (remember, this is old, but real, news).... Tomand Betsy Brady had their second daughter, Cindy, on July 20, 1975. Tom is a senior scientist at Ownes-Illinois in Toldeo, Ohio.... Jon andAnne Colby have two growing sons, eleven-year-old Christopher and seven-year-old Alex and were last seen in Charlotte, N.C., where Jon had a marketing job with Homelite.... The HerbHendriks' have two children, seven-year-old Scott and two-year-old Dana.

John Reginald Hall III was born on January 27, 1976 at the U.S. Army Hospital in Augsburg, West Germany, near where his dad, John Hall, was to take command of the 8th U.S. Army Field Artillery Detachment.... Walt andBetty Stern have two children, six-year-old Josh and three-year-old Ben. At one time Walt was acting chairman of the opthomology department at the Veterans Administration Hospital in San Francisco. He may still be.

The Kirk Veit's have two kids, four-year-old Brian and Karin, nearing two. Kirk was chief pediatric resident at Milwaukee's Children's Hospital.... The John Perry's have two boys, Jeff and Doug, who are six and five.... Steveand Anne Warhover have three - Julie's eight, Jeffs six and Susan's four. He's marketing director for new food products at General Mills in Minneapolis.

Continuing with culled clips from the past Bob Hawley has graduated from Harvard Business School and is working for an Atlanta management consulting firm.... Larry Goss is chairman of the department of geography at SUNY-Oswego.... Wayne Hill is president of Hill Photography, Ltd., a Washington-based studio specializing in environmental and wilderness photography.... Jim Lustenader is associate advertising director for a division of Pepsico, Inc. and commutes from New York City to suburban Harrison.

Larry Simms has a young three-year-old daughter Anna, a wife Beth, serving a two-year fellowship in oncology at the VA Hospital in Washington, D.C., a part-time post with a public interest law firm and a teaching position at Georgetown University Law School.... BobMilier practices law on the Navajo reservation near Tuba City, Ariz., and Kathy teaches in a local grammar school.

Dr. Russell Sabrin is a resident in orthopedic surgery at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth, N.H., working with and under Dr. Jim Nutt.... James McGregor is practicing Ob-Gyn at Mather Air Force Base, Calif... Chuck and Susan Sherman both have Ph.D.'s in quantitative psychology and both have jobs in Washington - he is conducting institutional research at the Association of American Medical Colleges; she is at the National Academy of Sciences.

Halsey Bullen is a senior accountant with Haskins &, Sells in San Francisco and, with Isabel, is the father of a daughter Diana.... Hodge Jones is with Condec Corporation in Old Greenwich, Conn., as manager of financial analysis and control.... Dr. Pete Dorsen has set up a private practice in general internal medicine in Minneapolis near Lutheran Deaconess Hospital.... Jack Garamella has become a partner with the Danbury, Conn., law firm of Cutsumpas, Collins and Hannafin.
