Word has just come from Wee Kimball that True Dudley has agreed to serve as 1911's head class agent for the Alumni Fund, replacing John Learoyd, who is retiring because of failing health. Our deep appreciation to John for his years of faithful service. I am sure that all members of the 1911 family will cooperate with True in assuming this new assignment.

The following address changes have recently been received:

Mrs. Dorothy Beecher (Dorothy Steeves). Seagati Tower, South Delray Beach, Fla. 33444. Mrs. Irving Franklin (daughter of Rolf Norris), 40 Four Star Road, Groveland, Mass. 01834. Mrs. Ernest H. Griswold, Harrison Avenue, Box 459-A, Miller Place, N.Y. 11764. Mrs. Glenn G. McConnell, 300 Weston Road, Troy Ohio 45373.

A note from John Coggins brings the sad news that his wife, Nora, passed away on October 9, 1976. As a widower he has turned his housekeeping problems over to his youngest daughter. Since his present status is comparable to Charlie Jordan's to whom we make frequent reference, he sends his regards to Charlie and his housekeeper. John was active in organizing the Tri-County Dartmouth Club of New Jersey 46 years ago, which still operates effectively in Princeton country.

Wee Kimball advises that Don Cheney has submitted his financial report for the year ended September 30, 1976, which was delayed because of Don's illness. Total 1911 funds in Hanover banks after financing the Class subscription to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE were: September 30, 1975 - $3,337.35; September 30, 1976 - $3,467.97. At such time as there are no living members of the Class, the balance of 1911 funds will be added to the 1911 Samson Occom Scholarship for male Indians, which yields about $2,500 a year. Arrangements for this plan were completed with the College and the two banks several years ago.

Don Cheney has forwarded a note received from Ruth (Mrs. James M.) Mathes at the time she paid for her subscription to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. She writes that her family grows and grows, and she is now blessed with fifteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. They all get together at Ruth's home in Maine during the summer. She has three sons-in-law, two from Dartmouth and one from Harvard. Ruth states that she keeps up the scholarship fund in memory of Jim Sr. '11 and Jim Jr. '39 and derives much pleasure from corresponding with the young recipients of its benefits. I hope that her thoughtful note may serve as a reminder to other widows and classmates to contribute some news along with your dollars.
