Well kids, summer and all the pleasures it entails is once more upon us. Much news to report, so let me dispense with the preliminary baloney and get to it. Bob Parkinson and family have moved back from England to San Diego, where he was promoted to commander in the Navy. He lives in Chula Vista, Calif. BillWoods writes, "since February 1977 have been vice president/general manager of Bumble Bee Seafoods tuna cannery in Mayaquez, Puerto Rico." He loves his job and his family (wife Pris, daughter Kristen, eight, and Billy, five) and enjoys Puerto Rico. "I am still trying to be a mountain climber although my body is less willing. Finally topped 19,000 feet in Ecuadorian Andes (Mt. Chimborarjo) last August. If any other '64s interested in high altitude/low technique climbs, please contact me." (Only reply so far was from Charlie the Tuna.)

Ward Ives has been elected a vice president of Manufacturers Hanover Trusts' trust operations department as uptown area manager. Ward has been with the bank since 1965. Coincidentally, Lance Keeler just joined Manufacturers Hanover Trust. He is in an international corporate finance department, and with his extensive language background (German, Danish, Pig-Latin, Gibberish, and Thumpty Dump) is involved with the Scandinavian region. Lance will be spending time in Oslo, Norway, this October. (Can you imagine "The Count" in a three-piece bankers uniform?)

Gerald Dorros has recently established a private practice in cardiology in Milwaukee, Wise. He actually practices in cardiovascular disease and cardiac catheterization, so anyone with heartburn call Gerald. Geff Brod has been promoted to director of systems in the casualty and surety division of Aetna Life and Casualty in Hartford, Conn. Geff has been with the company since 1965. Edmund Frost has been appointed as general counsel and named a vice president of the Manufacturing Chemists Association. As general counsel, his responsibilities include' furnishing legal advice (test tubes, bunsen burners, etc.) to the association's board of directors (oh yes, I forgot litmus paper) and staff, as well as supervision of the conduct of MCA's legal affairs. Ed joins MCA from the Federal Trade Commission where he was an assistant director of general litigation in the Bureau of Competition since September of 1976. Prior to that he was an associate with the Washington law firm of Steptoe and Johnson.

Bob Merrill is moving from New York City to Portland, Ore. He is with Boise Cascade Corp. in the paper group, and will be moving from regional sales manager in New York to marketing manager—publishing papers in Portland. Wife Joanne is pregnant again. They have a daughter Leila who is four. Ed Jaeger, CPCU and account executive with the R. O. Hass Agency in York, Pa., has received a national award for educational excellence from the Insurance Institute of America. Ed received the award for having received the highest grade in the nation during the May '77 examination series on the "Structure of the Risk Management Process." Ed is the president of Big Brothers of Lancaster County as well as a member of other community organizations.

Terry Lowe is a teacher of mathematics and the swimming coach at Greenwich High School (Conn.). His boy's swimming teams have won Connecticut State Championships in the last seven out of eight years. Have a nice summer, and I'll talk to you in the fall.
