Another incredible year of snow for skiing and shoveling. Christmas week in Aspen, Ted Spiegel and Bernie Sudikoff were among the thousands enjoying the super powder. New England also had incredible snow. Our family was at Okemo Muntain, Ludlow, Vt., just south of Rutland. Jack Zimmermann was elected president of this ski area last summer. Jack and Jody live in Darien, Conn., where Jack has his own management consulting firm. Prior to that, he was with IBM for 18 years. Okemo is a great family ski area. Pat and Seth Carpenter were also there, staying with the Zimmermanns.

The day after Christmas, Christine and ChadDay had a daughter named Amira Biko, named after Steven Biko, the black South African who was killed by the police in 1978. Mother and daughter are fine; father is delighted.

George Krall has been named general manager of Schenectady General Electric's large steam turbine generator department. For eight years, George has been manager of GE's aircraft engine group in Cincinnati. He has been with GE in the manufacturing end since 1955 and has moved steadily up through most of their operations. George and Marjorie's son David has been accepted on early decision for the Class of '83.

Harvey Medlinsky is firmly ensconced in Beverly Hills where he has been doing some directing on TV. Most recently he did a couple of episodes of "Mork and Mindy" which is making him very big with the kids. Right now he is in Florida for two months to open the Burt Reynold's Theatre located in Jupiter, just outside of West Palm Beach. He is directing the first two productions: Vanities, with Sally Fields, and Born Yesterday, with Karen Valentine.

Lefty Leavens has left the Hood River Valley after 18 years. He has moved 120 miles north to the Yakima Valley. He missed reunion because he became general manager of Snokist Growers Inc., a $4O-million fruit packing and processing cooperative. Reunion time was right during the cherry season and they were preparing for the first U.S. cherry exports to Japan.

John Springer, president and executive director of Hartford Hospital, was elected to the separate account committee of Hartford Insurance Co. and a director of Hartford Fund Inc., an ITT subsidiary.

Dave Burner has become associated with the Chicago law firm of Gorham, Metge, Bowman and Hourigan. He will specialize in the estate planning, probate, and real estate areas. It is a small firm by Chicago standards (three partners and three associates) but young in age and with lots of growth potential.

Boyer Chrisman was so impressed with Quechee Gorge, Vt., at reunion that he has purchased a unit there. They plan to move in by June. The quality of life has not tended to improve in the Virgin Islands where they have been for many years so they have decided to make an organized move back to the mainland. The Chrismans look forward to hearing from any of the Class passing through this summer.

Fred Carleton spent a large part of the summer on the banks of the Charles River at Mass General. He went down for some tests the day after reunion, because he had trouble walking the past year. They discovered a disc high up in his neck impacting his spine and he had an operation to remove the pressure in July. He finally got back to work in September at K-Ross Building Supply Center in Lebanon. Molly came to work in August as the resident computress and really enjoys it, although now she has another person to share the job so she will be working half-time.

Well, that's it for this month.
