Rusty and Becky Martin are now living in Glen Rock, N.J., with son and daughter. You will recall that Russ was working for the Buffalo Bills and now works for the NFL Management Council which represents 28 NFL owners in all dealings with the players union. Don and NancyMiddleton are in Pittsburgh where Dr. Don has been made associate director of the Family Health Center and director of pediatric education at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital. I think the clan runs the hospital, as Nancy's dad is in Ob-Gyn there and Don's sister-in-law is a staff nurse in the intensive care unit! Don was previously chief of pediatrics at Reynolds Army Hospital, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
Pete Hofman played stork to bring home an addition to his family. He went to Korea on August 29 and returned September 2 with Daniel Aaron (born May 9 in Seoul). A quick phone call to Rolf Borgersen and Dianna in Okanogan, Wash., caught the old boy just about to leave on a ski trip. Rolf indicates he is gradually easing more and more into private practice from the public defender's office. Another attorney by trade, Sher Guernsey, has joined the firm of Aaronson and Fuster in Williamstown, Mass. Sher is chairman of the fund-raising committee of the Berkshire Chapter of the American Heart Association and secretary-treasurer of the local Dartmouth Alumni Club. Wife Susie wrote that BillBlanchard has wrapped up his naval service at Pensacola and is a fellow in pediatric cardiology at the Shands Teaching Hospital, University of Florida, Gainesville.
Jim Hodges enjoyed the reunion and wrote from Seattle, where he visited Dirk and JaneEhlert. Jim is in family practice in Hickory, N.C., and looks forward to the next reunion when he can introduce his two sons to the Big Green. Tom Couser is about to publish a book on American autobiography (U. Mass. Press) and he is in his third year with the English Department of Connecticut College while wife Peggy is attending Yale's School of Management. Tom previously taught at Kimball Union Academy and holds a Ph.D. in American civilization from Brown.
Paul and Kathy Fitzgerald were expecting their first child in February. He has been appointed to the University of California (San Francisco) faculty of medicine. The Fitzgeralds like to have guests because they don't get back east as feequently as they have in the past (current residence is in Mill Valley, Calif.). DaveClark still has his sights set on coming back to New England. He is currently a staff attorney for the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund, lives in Pineville, W.Va., and still plays rugby every weekend with a city club in Charleston.
Joe Barri has been made a junior partner in Hale and Dorr (Boston) and reports that "a two-year-old is the best toy I've ever had. BobThomas is still with Bucknell University as associate director of admissions, coaches baseball and football, and still finds time to play plenty of racquetball and tennis. Gary andElizabeth Hobin, along with son Brian, are stationed at Fort Hood, Tex., where Gary is a company commander of the Ist Cavalry Division.
Bob Benoit of Chase Manhattan returned from his two-year assignment in Barbados and has completed a year as liason manager for the Caribbean region. Bob reports that his southerly trips are "becoming more frequent and are strategically planned in accordance with the Farmers' Almanac." Last Fall he ran into Jim Sutherland '66 who is also with Chase and working in Caracas, Venezuela. John andRandee Fieselmann have moved to Des Moines after nine years of training at the University of lowa Hospital. He is now practicing pulmonary medicine as part of the teaching faculty at the University of lowa internal medicine training program.
Finally, this may seem like a fair amount of news to swallow in one reading, but there is a lot more happening. I will accept letters from you, your wives, children, relatives, parents, pets, etc. with pleasure. Your former friends, classmates, and the world at large are interested in you and your life and activities, so put down the snow shovel, pick up the old pen, and for a total investment of five minutes and fifteen cents give the rest of us the enjoyment of hearing from you.
