Turn your calendar back to October 17. At 3:00 p.m., President Dick Burns called the executive committee meeting to order with Jim Farley, Bill Lain, Ad Winship, Jackie Quayle, Alex Fanelii, Bill Enos, Allan Dingwall, Andy Wood, Warren Kreter, and Bob Kirk in attendance. There was discussion on several heavy subjects, but no earth-shaking decisions that affect the entire class. At about 6:00 p.m., the above group moved to the Outing Club and were joined there by Mr. and Mrs. Allison, Berman, Britton, Buckalew, Bull, Burdett, Caproni, Eldredge, Encherman, Farr, Finch! Hartranft, Heald, Keirstead, Kuhn, Latz,' Matthews, Mendes, Rugen, Sargent, Schaefer, Schoonmaker, Stambaugh, Sturz, Taylor! Weinberg and White.
Following cocktails and an excellent buffet, most of the group moved to a parade, speeches! and a monster bonfire in the center of the Green. These events closed the formal activities for Friday, but Saturday (with its wind and rain) saw us off and running. The above group gathered at the Winships' for a miserable picnic (weatherwise) and we were joined by the JackTobins and the Dex Richards. There were a few dropouts between the Winships' and Memorial Field, but the athletic group was enlarged by the arrival of Doug Stowell. The weather improved, at least from our standpoint, as the Big Green put on an excellent show by defeating Harvard.
A pause to gather ourselves, then off to the Dingwalls' for cocktails. Some of the group went on to the Norwich Inn for dinner, while others left for home or independent fun and the World Series. It was another fine, fun minireunion, where we enjoyed seeing each other again and missing those who didn't make it. Incidentally, for those of you who have 1981 calendars, mark off the weekend of October 10 for our next fall reunion, which will surround the William and Mary game.
Unfortunately, all is not sweetness and light, as I must report the deaths of Tom Wagner on August 30 and Don Williamson on October 5. Their obituaries will appear in this magazine in the near future. Have a healthy, happy holiday. I'll anticipate hearing from you in 1981.
