It was Friday, October 13, at 3:30 p.m. when the executive committee met to pry the lid off this year's mini-reunion. Mssrs. Swenson, Burns, Enos, Farley, Ben Page, Wood, Dingwall, Kreter, Fanelli, Kirk, and Winship pondered some grave questions regarding the Class. Reports (verbal) were submitted by the respectieve officers in attendance and then some heavy decisions were made. Please note: Mini-reunions will be held on October 26 and 27 in '79 (the Cornell game) and October 17 and 18 in 'BO (the Harvard game), so you can start making plans about now.
5:30 saw us gathering at the D.O.C. House for cocktails and another delicious buffet. Along with the above there was a chance to chat with the Allisons, the Harry Bartletts, Bermans, Blankleys, Bulls, Bob Burdett, Callihans, Capronis, George Clarks, Enchermans, Farrs, Healds, Hendersons, Holecamps Jacobs, Keeshans, Matthews, Bill Millers, O'Maras, Richards, Schaefers, Schoonmakers, Searles, Guy Swenson, Weinbergs, and Williamsons.
Incidentally, three of the above have rejoined the married club and it was nice to see Dutchand Van Schaefer, Bob and Gerry Searles, and Don and Hazel Williamson.
Saturday morning was terrible, as the heavy rain that started late Friday afternoon kept right on coming. I can now report that the Winship's garage holds two cars or 40 people. The Jack Tobins and the Remsens joined the bedraggled group for lunch, then the faithful departed for the game, with some of the more intelligent ladies cancelling due to weather. Incidentally, the Green laid it on Yale by a score of 10 to 3, and another mini-reunion ground to a close.
Now, something I really want to tell you - I received a letter from a '42! Bless you, DickBaldwin, for your letter and the clipping you enclosed. Seems that recently Dick and CampHopkins presented the Dartmouth story at college night for the Cranford (N.J.) High School and I'm sure an excellent job was done. The clipping Dick sent along was from TheWall Street Journal of October 25 and reports that Harry Jacobs will become chairman of Bache Group as of November 2, 1978. Harry has been president and chief executive officer of that company and now is the chairman. Congratulations and a well-done to Harry A. Jacobs, Jr.
As Dick Baldwin just proved, it's not too difficult to drop a note to your lonely secretary (he of the naked mailbox), so why don't you give it a try.
