Among this month's news items is word that John Lippman was named news director of KIRO-TV in Seattle, Wash., last November. John was previously news director at KSTW in Tacoma. While at KSTW, he developed its first news programming and recruiting, as well as developed its first news staff. Prior to joining KSTW, John was a news reporter and anchor at KING-TV in Seattle. John has also done graduate studies at the University of Washington. He lives in Tacoma.

Bruce Tepper and his wife Belinda (Wellesley '71) had their first child, Laura Kate, on February 23, making Art Hittner an uncle and Robbert Tepper '41 a proud grandfather. Young Laura will be registered for the class of 2002. Bruce assisted in the birth and gave Laura her first bath in the delivery room.

Publisher Tyke Weed's Nordic Skiing magazine recently featured an article about Jonathan Wolken and Moses Pendleton and their dance group, Pilobolus. The article recounted Moses' start in cross-country skiing, his move to professional dance, and the group's recent performance during the Winter Olympics at Lake Placid, N.Y. The same issue included an article about saunas by Dartmouth's head men's ski coach, John Morton.

Mac Barrett has been appointed director of alumni relations and college promotions at Loyola College in Maryland. His responsibilities include the coordination of alumni events and campus-wide promotional activities. Prior to his appointment, Mac was a vice president with Personal Management Associates Inc., a Baltimore-based sports management firm. He also served as assistant director of public relations for the Baltimore Orioles for three years. Mac is a member of the Advertising Club of Baltimore, the Baltimore Public Relations Council, the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Press Association, and the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. He lives in Rodgers Forge, Md.

Richard Swist represented Dartmouth at the inauguration of Dr. Bruce Johnstone as president of State University College in Buffalo last January.

And our own class was awarded the Charles F. Moore Jr. Trophy for the class with the best Alumni Fund donor improvement, while Head Agent Craig Robelen was the recipient of the John R. Mason Award as the outstanding class agent for classes one to ten years out. The record-breaking 1979 Alumni Fund raised $6.3 million with participation of 62 per cent.
