You thought Leon Martel of the Hudson Institute was interesting discussing the future at our 25th. Wait till you hear what he has to say at our 30th, for Al Haig has joined the New York think tank as a colleague of Leon's. This should generate some interesting dialogue.
News travels slowly when the mailing point is St. Louis, Mo. Gene Gerard writes that he and Georgette visited Dick Flagg and Pat earlier this year in Costa Mesa. "Had a marvelous taste of California hospitality and wine."
While in the spirits, the Valley News reported that Bill Wilbur has been named president of Joseph E. Seagram U.S.A., a new unit of the Seagram Company Ltd. In this capacity, Bill will be responsible for all of the corporation's wine and spirits business in the States. Cheers!
On the academic scene, more '55 offspring have arrived in Hanover with the class of'86 Bernie Siskind's son, Larry, and Zsolt de Papp's son, John. Bernie is in the clothing business in Manhattan, while Zsolt operates as a doctor upstate in Rochester.
Dick Johnson represented the College at the inauguration of the president of the University of Dallas last summer.
The newly-appointed advertising director of Industry Week, a publication of Penton/IPC, is Gearld Coffey. Gere has been associated with Penton publications for more than 20 years, moving up through various district and regional sales positions. In his new post he will be based in New York and will head up all field sales activities. Gere and his family reside in Little Silver, N.J., and he is a director of the Dartmouth Club of Monmouth County.
