Thanks to Donna Ferretti (through Alumni Fund telethon notes) and Joe Powers (via class dues), the mailbag was full of news this month.
Tom Wilcox and his wife Robin are currently living in Cranbury, "N.J., where he sells electronic office equipment for A.B. Dick. Tom is active with the Central Jersey Sierra Club and has recently been camping and salmon fishing (with no luck) in Nova Scotia.
Tom reported that he and Mark D'Andrea play tennis together often. Mark and his wife have two girls and he is currently involved with biological research in the New Brunswick, N.J., area.
Jerry Thompson is a trial lawyer in Kansas City, Mo., where a major part of his practice involves products liability litigation. Jerry and his wife have been active renovating older properties in a historic area of Kansas City. And by the time this issue reaches your doorsteps, they will have returned from a vacation in Greece. Tough life, Jerry.
Chip Sleeper is working in the world of advertising in New York. Chip and his wife and their son of one year, Lydon, live in Pelham, N.Y.
Bruce Williams is teaching high school social studies in Lebanon, N.H. Bruce is also the girls' basketball coach, and last season his team won the state championship.
Francis Sparagna is practicing personal injury litigation and civil litigation in Encino, Calif. His wife Diana is a labor lawyer who does work for the United Transportation Union and the Communication Workers of America.
Trevor O'Neil matriculated at Yale Law School this fall.
Congratulations are due to Cal Bowie, who recently married Chris Nicholson '74 at the Washington Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Chris is now an attorney with Hale and Dorr's D.C. office. Cal is a partner in the firm of Bowie-Girdley Architects in the capital. After Dartmouth, Cal received a master of architecture degree from Yale and then went on to form his own firm.
Donna Ferritti was cited by the College for breaking the ninth-year-out Dartmouth Alumni Fund record. In fact, all of our class agents are to be congratulated, and everyone who contributed deserves a special thank you.
And finally, Joe Powers sent word of a reunion with Bob and Tina Ashton, Robin Derry, and Scott Johnson. The rendezvous occurred at the wedding of Leon Black and Debra Ressler. Apparently "Buns" is busy trying to establish a marketing services company in the United States which has been successful in Australia. He is currently living and working "down under" but should be returning to the New York area soon with his wife, Thalia.
John Hauge and Bill McDonough were also in attendance at Leon's wedding. John has recently moved on to new financial frontiers in Oklahoma City. At his "going-west" party, Joe saw Mark Kilroy and Bob Ariel, who is now studying for his M.B.A. at Harvard.
And while Robin Derry was still visiting with Joe, he managed to get together with fellow hoopster Jim "Bear" Fleischer. Jim is now practicing law in Washington, D.C. And Roger Smith made the trip down from our northern border "for a memorable and sudsfilled weekend."
See you next month.
