The information briefly presented here was gathered from close to 500 responses to a questionnaire sent to the faculties of the College asking for details of research and study undertaken abroad in the recent past and of work on behalf of international organizations. Because of considerations of space, the questionnaire was not sent to adjunct, emeritus, research and visiting members of faculty, and it was decided not to include in the report visits made to other countries primarily for the purpose of giving an address or a lecture.
For similar reasons, it has not been possible to print here the details of the work done abroad, nor to give more than a representative sampling of the work done for international organizations or agencies. A full report - to which will be added information received after this summary is printed - has been prepared in typewritten form and may be obtained from the office of the Director of the Endowment.
