In as much as the deadline for this month's issue has already passed, allow me to dispense with the usual pleasantries and tackle forthwith that monumental three-piece pile of mail which is staring me in the face.
John Keppel was kind enough to drop me a card from Portland, Ore., where he has been practicing.pulmonary medicine for three years. He is married to a psychiatrist and they have two boys, ages six and four. Life couldn t be better. John counsels his patients to give up smoking and then refers them to his wife, who prescribes three days in a rubber room or a pack of Luckies as a palliative. They've shared the same four patients now for the past three years and are seriously considering the expansion of their joint practice to include inveterate glue sniffers.
A very formal announcement recently arrived heralding the association of Ed Damon with Cleveland, Waters and Bass of Concord. N.H. The card did not divulge the girls' first names.
Some months ago I reported the appointment of Ted Baehr to the presidency of the Episcopal Radio-TV Foundation in Atlanta. As a recipient of his frequent news releases, which rival in number all previous correspondence received by your bumble servant, I have been able to follow his exploits religiously. Two of his radio programs, Religionwise and the Protestant Hour, have enjoyed great success, with the latter rogram now being carried by NationPublic Radio on over 500 member stations. As executive producer of Perspectives, a series whicn examines issues from several different faith per spectives and airs over the P.B.S. network, Ted finds himself up against Dallas during Pnffle time in Atlanta. Look out, J.R.! The Episcopal Radio-TV Foundation are the same folks who brought you The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. which aired over C.B.S. a few years back. Their latest undertaking, entitled The Magician's Nephew, is based on The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis and will soon be playing in a theater near you. Keep those news releases coming, Ted. I'll be standing by the mailbox.
