Although my name appears at the top of September's article, Dave Loring, our ambitious outgoing scribe, put together the excellent review of our 15th. He deserves many a "Wah-Hoo-Wah" for his years of unstinting service! He mentioned that '68s had been good correspondents these past years and hoped that the tradition wouldn't fail. He then grabbed a six pack and left for his sailboat on Lake Michigan.

The 15 th reunion brought together many a long-lost friend. Dave chronicled the events last month; now for an update on some of the people who made the trek:

First and foremost, credit should be given to Dave Peck for organizing the reunion glee club. He shaped up over a dozen motley members in only two days. Dave has also been busy with a move to Boston, where he will be using his architectural talents at the planning office of Children's Hospital, while Nancy will be studying for an advanced nursing degree.

Ken Dardick has recently opened a family practice medical office in Storrs, CT. After working in an HMO for several years, Ken is happy to be his own boss. He has put his computer skills to good use starting a computer medical business providing physicians with the most current CDC immunization guidelines for all countries. If you are planning a visit to Sri Lanka this fall and want to know what booster shots you'll need, give Ken a call.

John Meehan reports that he has just been named associate executive director of Hartford Hospital, in charge of current operations of this 1,000-bed complex. He completed his master of hospital administration degree at the University of Minnesota in 1974 and worked at Putnam Memorial Hospital in Bennington until 1979- John moved to Hartford with Pam and their three boys' to'become vice president at Hartford Hospital. John Springer '53, executive director, recognized our classmate's talents and promoted John this summer.

Eric "Kent" Hatch taught English in Cincinnati on both the high school and college levels until last year. At that time he became busy enough writing and editing for local industry that he founded his own communications consulting firm, the Execuwrite Program, in Montgomery, OH. His outside interests are Great Lakes sailing and singing in Cincinnati's May Festival Chorus.

Many other classmates had interesting sagas which will appear in subsequent articles. Now I must digress to April. Dave asked the question, "What happened to vanished classmates Steve Reiss and Dave Soren?"

Steve responded that he married Maggi Musico (Smith '71) in 1971 and they now have a one-year-old son, Michael. Steve received a Ph.D. in psychology from Yale in 1972. then moved to Chicago, where he joined the U. of Illinois faculty. He teaches at the university and at the affiliated Institute for the Study of Developmental Disabilities. This month he becomes a full professor! His area of major research interest is mental health and emotional development of the mentally retarded. Maggi serves as school psychologist for Argo Community High School in Summit, IL, and also as a hearing officer for the Illinois State Office of Education.

Another lost sheep, Dave Soren, falls into the "nice work if you can get it" category. Having entered the field of classics and archeology, he has just become head of the' Department of Classics at the U. of Arizona. The best part: "I'm directing two archeological excavations, in Cyprus and Portugal, for which I'm supported by a Senior Fulbright and a NationalGeographic grant." His wife Noelle is also an archeologist. Dave, could you use any help from New England come January?

Dave also writes that Mike Shortridge is a successful prosecuting attorney in southern Missouri, and that John Stephens is a very successful artist who is now living in Thetford, VT, and "whose paintings sell in the thousands of dollars."

Word was received from Bay Bank Valley Trust Company, Springfield, MA, that Peter Weston's thesis has been accepted for the Library of the American Banker's Association and that a copy will be placed in the Library of Northwestern University. Pete received his M.B.A. from Western New England College and while working as Bay Bank Valley's vice president and head trust officer, completed the National Graduate Trust School three-year program with distinction. Peter, his wife Ruth, and their son live in Westfield.

Dan Hedges notes that he was selected by the Texas Young Lawyer's Association as the "Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas" for 1982-83. He practices down in Houston.

Keep your notes flowing in; those events large or small that punctuate each classmate's life are always of interest to your Dartmouth friends. The next class executive committee meeting will be held Saturday, October 22, at Rockefeller Center, Hanover, at 9:30 a.m., prior to the Cornell game. You are all welcome.
