In a recent conversation with Dick Holt I learned that Bob and Dorothy Forgan are on the waiting list to move into Duncaster, a retirement community in Bloomfield, Conn., Dick's hometown. Dave and Faith Duffy are current residents.

Kix Russell, Jack Russell's wife, has assumed the chair for her 60th reunion at Smith College. I would think that many of our Smith wives and daughters will feel certain that this Reunion will be, indeed, most memorable. Without doubt there is no one more qualified to fill this most important position—let me know if I can help!

I've started calling classmates at random in an attempt to uncover news that may be of interest to you all. The first few calls were rather surprising to me—LouFortuna, of Rosewell, Ga., was the first to say he had good news to report, but also the bad should be included. He is fine and has been retired for 22 years, but still keeps active in the banking industry in a greatly reduced way. His wife had just recently gone blind from glaucoma and is suffering from the early stages of Alzheimer's. On the plus side is Lou's love of his family and the joy their visits bring. He has four children, with eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. They all live within commuting distance and they get together often. Lou has a sister living in Manchester, N.H., who keeps him informed on the lovely New England weather (it is snowing in Wilbraham as I write this—10 inches expected—Lou wants it kept up north. They have had their taste of our weather a short while ago). Lou works with Gil Tanis' annual fund crew and one of his contacts is with BobCarson, living about 50 miles away, but close enough for Lou to visit once or twice a year. Unfortunately Bob is having a serious problem with his vision.

I also called Jack Karr and Irv Brown, but, due to space limits, their conversations will have to wait until next month. However, their prostate problems I reported on previously have been successfully corrected.

Our class numbers continue to decline with the loss of Bob Brew, Fred Becker, and Eric Vaughan.
