Apologies for not having a column in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE for November. Illness followed by two weeks in the hospital kept me out of all activity and mail piled up unmercifully. Now it is a matter of slow recovery. I think this is only the second time in seven years that a column has been missed.
The class of 1917 was represented by your class officer in the Dartmouth Night parade. It was a beautiful, moonlit night, with big crowds and alumni all around. The class of 1917 was the oldest class to take part in the festivities. The football game with Cornell the next day was a thriller, with Dartmouth winning by a score of 31 to 17.
It is unfortunate that more of us are not as active and well as Walt Walters. He and Phoebe get around the country a great deal, doing good work and sojourning in Florida to rest up. They have attended many reunions and mini-reunions. Such gatherings are what help hold the class in the Dartmouth Family bond.
Word has just been received from RalphSanborn about the death of our youngest alumnus, George E. Clark of Lisbon, N.H. Our sympathy to his wife and family. An obituary will appear in this or the following issue of the ALUMNI MAGAZINE.
