Will the entire Twoter family please rise, the better to hear this acclamation of "Bravo!" You have done it again: 106 of you have contributed $49,494 to the 1985 Alumni Fund. The 106 contributors resulted in a overall participation index for the class and a dollar total of 109.9 percent, compared with the objective of $45,000. How can the class adequately express gratitude to so many for so much? Tuition still pays only one-half of the educational costs, and your contribution helps the College, among other budget-balancing projects, in providing worthy scholarship assistance to deserving students. When "Dartmouth Undying" affectionately rises up from the Hanover Plain in years to come, it will be in no small measure because you cared.

Likewise, special accolades go to head agent Spenny Smith and to our 16 class agents: Ray Atwood, Gray Bates, BillBullen, Jack Dana, Warren Daniell, JackDodd, Carroll Dwight, Charlie Earle,Killy Kilmarx, Rex Malmquist, IkeMiller, Wally Mountcastle, Herm Oliver,Charles Tapley, Charlie Throop, and Duke Vos Burgh. The class of '22 salutes, you for your loyalty and your work for Dartmouth.

A request has been received from a most supportive classmate to describe the part played by memorial donations in the 1922 Alumni Fund total. It can be said that in the period between July 1, 1984, and June 30, 1985, approximately 45 percent of our $49,494 came from memorial contributions. They come from spouses, children, other relatives, and friends of departed classmates. One substantial donation was in memory of all deceased classmates. Contributions ranged from $5 to two for $5,000, and the class is grateful for all.

Now, for classmates who are no longer climbing from echelon to echelon - in fact, it is definitely hoped that they are not climbing any ladders at all - and are no longer yacht club commodores, nor golf course champions - though still pretty good at smelling the roses, jogging, and tennis it may bring pleasant memories to read of those in the Twoter family who were honored by these memorial gifts to the Alumni Fund. Our honor roll: Ralph Adams, Ned B. Allen, Troyer S.Anderson, Elmer F. Ardiff, Walter J. Aschenbach, Leroy F. Ball, Leonard H. Bernheim, Robert P. Booth, Lois Brown (wife of J. Regan Brown), Harry Bruckner, Max B. Budnitz, Wilbur J. Bunnell,Charles E. Canfield, William E. Carter,Alfred E. Davidson, J. Philip Dexheimer,Nathaniel C. Dodge, Roger M. Eastman,Earl W. The hill winds know their names. Harley Greenwood left the class and especially the '22 Hanover North Country contingent in deep sorrow when he left us on July 27. An obituary will follow.
