We had a great reunion and thank all who participated. Credit is due Larry Leavitt for the $19,000 raised for the Alumni Fund. Larry reported the following Sept. 13:
"This being our 70th Reunion year I thought it might be interesting to make a report covering various aspects of class activities. Not only a statistical report but a summation of why we can be called A GREAT CLASS.
"First, the Alumni Fund: College, $13,117,782; participation, 49.2 percent; class, $121,348; total donors, 97, including 26 alumni (78.8-percent participation). special Note: Two Dartmouth sons of a deceased classmate made a special contribution of $25,000.
"At the reunion luncheon given by the College, I presented a symbolic check to Acting President Jim Wright for $117,734 (as of June 10). At the same time I commented on the fact that 1925 over the years has contributed to the Alumni Fund a total of $3,567,744.
"President Ken Montgomery, not able to be with us, asked me to preside over the class meeting. I opened the meeting by welcoming Sheila Harvey Tanzer as the newest member of our class. (Rad and sheila were married on June 2.)
Then Rad, on behalf of the class, expressed sincere appreciation to Caroline McDonough for the work she did in planning and running our 70th Reunion. Note: A record for attendance held by 1924 was broken as we had 12 classmates and seven widows, plus numerous relatives.
"Sometime prior to Reunion I got to thinking of all the things that have a connection with the class of 1925—buildings, rooms, scholarships, faculty chairs, etc.
For my own interest and for the record, I have made a list which I would like to share with you. If I have omitted things, please for- give:
"Buildings include the Robert and Naomi Borwell Research Building at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center; the George and Frances Zahm Cardiovascular Suite, DHMC; Radford Tanzer M.D. Plastic Surgery Suite, DHMC; John Norris M.D. plaque in Dr. Mayor's office; Kenneth and Hale Montgomery House; Barkeley Jones Microtext Center, Baker Libary.
Also the Zahm Courtyard Garden, "Dedicated to the Class of 1925"; Montgomery fellowships; Class of 1925 Faculty Chair; Tedand Helen Geisel Faculty Chair in the Humanities; and the Preston Kelsey Chair of Religion."
