Having gotten through the holidays and having put on only ten pounds, we are now at the New Year's resolution stage where we decide how much we will weigh at this time next year. Fortunately, I forgot what I said last year, so I can't feel too bad.

There were many letters and some calls last month, and it was great to hear from everyone. It sounds like, finally, more of us are married than single, and believe it or not, most of us who are married actually have some kids. Nevertheless, Glenn Strauss wrote to say that in the last 12 years he has been a mercenary, a computer systems designer, and a magazine editor, and he is now writing a screenplay for a James Bond movie still single and still crazy after all these years. Glenn said that his current pursuits, /presumably in addition to the obvious one, are restoring vintage Corvettes and collecting submachine guns. Hang in there, Glenn.

Richard Warren called from Dallas, where he is a systems engineer for U.S. Life. He also is still single and sees that as quite pleasant for the time being. He said that LarryCohn had been in touch and that Larry had worked for the IRS for a while in Houston.

A note also came from Carl Rugen. In case you don't place the name, that's because he is in the class of '33. Carl is 1933's class secretary, and sometimes he doesn't have much luck with news either. He did have news of Charley Monagan, who was signing copies of his latest book, The Reluctant Naturalist, in Alexandria, Va., this past December. Carl heard about the signing because Charley is the son of John Monagan, class of 1933.

Finally, I got a letter from Mary Ann Choate. If her name doesn't ring a bell either, it's because she is Tobey Choate's wife. She and Tobey were married on September 22, 1984, and while Tobey didn't write, Mary Ann responded to the space where our column should have been. Tobey is with Arthur D. Little in Boston, and Mary Ann is with Gillette as a product manager. As near as she can tell, Tobey had fun at the wedding. Michael Hills was best man. Rumor has it that Mike can toast in Italian and that his wife, Betsy, knows how to throw a Dartmouthstyle party. Also in attendance were Bill Anderson and his wife, Mary, who are expecting their second child this spring. Max McGee was there, having come in from Chicago. Mary Ann said that Max was a hit with her female-type friends. Go get 'em, Max. Mary Ann said she would have sent pictures, except that everyone is losing their hair. Could that be our class?

That's it for this month. Happy New Year to all, and remember to drop a Iine(?) to let us know what you are doing.
