Hello, summer, hello, madness. How many of you can relate to the following from Howard Fielding: "Ho hum - yet another birth announcement in this babyboomer generation. Jeffrey James Fielding made his appearance March 7 a couple minutes late for 8 a.m. class - much like his father in that respect. Mom Barbara Hampton (St. Lawrence College '76) and son both doing fine - she's even easing part-time back into her solo law practice. Dad takes the day shift with the kid and the night shift as a copy editor for the TheVJaterbury Republican, a daily in Waterbury, Conn."

What better Canadian hockey names can one ask for?" Kevin and Ann recently spent a week skiing with Rika Pierson Clement and husband Waldo '79 in Whitefish, Mont.
From John Hart comes the following succinct but poignant message: "Almost nine years at Baxter Travenol Laboratories. Almost five years at 900 Greenwood Avenue, Swedish Cottage in Winnetka. A pregnant epistle from Frank and LisaMcNamara (Lisa is a '78) crossed this desk recently. They are the ecstatic parents of Carolyn Miles, who arrived last January. Frank was in the wedding party along with Scott Farr and Bart Gear. Other Dartmouth folks included John Robinson '45, Don Sisson '45, Bill Cash '37, TomSuprenant and Linda Baird Suprenant '78, David Donnelly, and Jane Kirstetter '78. They have added a new member to their clan, Charles, whom the stork deposited this past January. A rather kind letter arrived from Marybeth Lindenthal Jones, announcing the birth of George Davenport Jones IV this past year. Reportedly he is already receiving tips on hockey goalie techniques from grandfather Walter Lindenthal '50. Marybeth notes that she has her hands full minding the Georges and managing the corporate gift division of Codneys-Marco Polo, a group of china, glassware, and gift stores.
Also on the corporate scene, EllenClose of Pomfret, Vt., has been named an assistant vice president of the First New Hampshire Bank of Lebanon, N. H. She has been with the bank since 1981. Get your names in early, those of you who are just dying to get your hands on this column for the next five years. It's, ah, a wonderful job. Just think, one year from now we will be standing, perhaps leaning, under a tent in Hanover gawking at each other's offspring, bald . spots, and paunches as well as telling tales that could not possibly have happened. Start gearing up for the tenth. Under the directorship of Gretchen HellerFarmer and Sandy Wood, and in conjunction with the classes of '76 and '78, it should be a weekend not easily forgotten. See you in September..
