When Jim Garrett was fired as football coach at Columbia his three sons transferred to Princeton, sat out one year and this year are making many scores for that team that beat Dartmouth 34 to 3. It is too bad the Garrett family didn't stay at winless Columbia.

Lillian Gish celebrated her 91st birthday on October 14. She never married. Back in March or April of 1921 I saw her in a window of the Hanover Inn where she stayed during the filming of Way Down East. But Gordon Merriam recalls the clever camera work as Lillian was rescued from an ice floe on the Connecticut River. Now there's some talk about her winning an Oscar for her latest movie with Bette Davis. Amazing!
