Today is March 10. However, when you receive this it will be May and time to remind you of the approaching 1987 Alumni Fund deadline. For two years Big Chief Ave Raube has beaten and cajoled 100 percent of us to give. Each additional year sets a new record and makes it that much more difficult for any future class ever to match the 1930 performance. So give, y'all, even it it's only a buck, and do it early to save Honest Ave's nerves.

I've heard from Lee Chilcote and Bob Chittim. A while back, Bob sent a color shot of three distinguished gents, Charlie Rauch, Jack Fitzpatrick, and himself, taken at the telecast of last fall's Dartmouth-Harvard game, hosted by Sarasota's Harvard and Dartmouth Clubs. They look healthy, and Bob confirms that all are in "relatively" good shape.

Incidentally, while the Alumni Magazine can't always use color pics, don't let that dissuade any of you photographers (and 1930 has some good ones) from sending color shots to me. I collect them and someday they'll add up to a "picturesque" reunion exhibit. And if you do come across a good, newsy black-and-white, maybe we can publish it.

More recently Bob Chittim wrote that Milt and Blanche Mclnnes would be spending March nearby, and Charlie Rauch was hosting a cocktail party for them. Other additions to the indigenous Sarasota-Bradenton crew include Billie and Boof Perkins, Marge Chase, and Flo and LeeSturman. 1 hope for a report on the party, but Milt may beat me out of it. Bob also enclosed a copy of a fine article from YankeeMagazine about how Carl Haffenreffer saved the old Sakonnet Lighthouse, as we reported last year.

I received another copy from Carl, now wintering here in Tubac. I expect to see him next week, together with Ed McGibbon '29, the occasion being the annual visit of Frank Logan '52 to the sunny Southwest.

Lee Chilcote, as always,, was full of news. In February he and Kay were headed toward San Francisco on the Royal VikingSea and radiophoned Bob and LouiseKeene in Guanajuato, finding both in fine health and apparently with no complaints about life. In San Francisco Lee and Kay were dinner guests of Pete Callaway and "his very attractive companion," Marcy. Pete "is still handsome, young looking, and in good health." Pete will be in London during May, and he and Lee are talking about a round trip on the QE 2 and Concorde. Lee also had a good talk with DeeDee and Chuck Faye but time didn't permit a personal visit.

Always a generous benefactor of Dartmouth, Lee has recently contributed a collection of Nelson A. Rockefeller memorabilia to the College archives.

I'm grateful to the February Thirtyteer for sharing with us Fran Horn's interesting Christmas letter. I particularly want to comment on Fran's visit to South Africa, where Liela and I spent two years, but space prohibits. Next month maybe.

Greetings.

MEMORABLE 30thIt may be the last reunionwe'll be able to remember!
