As you read these words, Dave Johnston, our irrepressible treasurer and reunion chairman, is putting the finishing touches on his proposal for our class 25th Reunion project. To use Dave's words, the purpose of our project would be "to demonstrate the commitment of the class of 1966 to community service in a way that reflects the enduring application of a liberal arts education to shared community and social problems."

Working with the Tucker Foundation, our class would help expand the foundation's student retreat program so more students and alumni may participate and a broader range of subjects may be explored. Our support would extend from this fall through the summer of our 25 th Reunion year (1991). Topics covered at the retreats would run a broad gamut of social issues dealing with the role of the changing family in contemporary society.

The special magic of the retreat program would involve the chemistry we would generate among current students and faculty at the College and ourselves and our spouses. The retreats would be designed to engender a broader discussion among our members of the issues dealt with at four annual retreats.

"Success: The Good Life ... What Does It Mean?" is the first topic scheduled for this fall's retreat November 11-12. Future topics might include: "Cultural Differences and the Problem of Cultural Assimilation," and "Responding to Substance Abuse in Our Families and Our Society."

The project sounds like a winner. Let us know what you think and how you might like to participate.

Reminder: Jack Stebe and company have lined up an outstanding mini-reunion program, October 13-15. Hope you can make it.
