Giff Foley sent me an article from Life Magazine's Woodstock reunion issue which included a quote from Ross Vasta. "I had just graduated from Dartmouth and signed up to work the festival. I was handed a hunk of wood torn off a nearby tree and told to fend off would-be thieves. It quickly became obvious that the air was filled with joy and love, not desperadoes. So I apologetically resigned, took off my shirt and waded into the sea of bodies. It was a blend of joy, inner peace, and love. I tell my eight-year-old daughter that her generation may be the next Woodstock nation and she should never underestimate the power of love and music." Ross is a psychology professor at the State University of New York at Brock- port.
Giff has been one of the main contributors of information for this column and I wish to thank him for his efforts. Letters from him have the return address of Gifford T. Foley Associates in Danbury, Conn. I am curious as to who the associates are and what they all do.
Take care and write.
