In a recent note, Jeff Sassorossi asked me to remind all of our '75 brethren of the importance of the Alumni Fund, a request Jim Bildner, our head agent, fully supports. Dartmouth has consistently been one of the top schools nationally in annual fundraising participation. We all understand the common bond among Dartmouth alums, be they class of '43 or '93; when we meet someone who hails from the Big Green, we instinctively relate to our shared experiences. When you get that green-and- white envelope in the mail, don't give until it hurts, give until it feels good. Speaking of feel-good, if you missed the article by Chris "Animal House" Miller '63 in September's Alumni Mag, it's worth digging through the archives for.
I join Charlie Perkins in his toast to our outgoing newsletter editor Cate MarletteWaddell. She has left a legacy which only Fuzzy, now editor of the Union Leader, could equal. Thanks, Cate, for a wonderful job.
I tracked down Tom Wood to find out what was so important as to keep him away from the reunion. Turns out he and his wife, Martha, brought their #3 child, Sam, into the world on June 7. Sam's sister Sophie 7, and brother Charlie 5, couldn't be happier. Tom is the self-described "utility infielder" for Goldman Sachs in institutional trading, having moved from the Chicago farm team to the New York major league with Goldman. Tom mentioned that he was meeting Jonathan White that evening for 'tails to discuss Jonathan's upcoming wedding this fall. Congratulations!
Jon Zins reports that he and his wife, Pat, are expecting their second next spring. Jon is still practicing radiology in Bridgeport, Conn., along with Bones Gate brother BobBernasek. They have given up making fogcutters in hospital beakers because "my stomach couldn't take it any more." When asked what was the biggest change he noticed at the reunion, Jon "Every- body looks the same . . . except RobSwiggett," and went on to observe that Rob had Tost more than a little of his hair. Sorry, Swigs.
This month s mail brings the following epistle from Gordon Stewart: "Lest I be classified as a '75 MIA, here's the "communicado.
