In response to my Shastid trivia question, I received a note from Lance Bertelsen. Lance is a member of the English Department at the University of Texas at Austin. Lance also has the worst handwriting I've ever seen. Lance spent last summer directing an English program at Brasenose College in Oxford, England. Whilst there, he was visited by jack Kelsey and his two daughters, Sarah and Erin. Along with Lance's daughter Elin, the Kelsey-Bertelsen group road-tripped through Dorset and Devon and visited Dartmouth, England, "a lovely seacoast town." Lance's answer to what Shastid's middle initials stood for was close but off by one letter.

The only other response to my question was from Allen Denison. Orgs, of course, got it right: Granville Hardinge. For those who care, Shastid's nickname, SJK, stood for Super Jock Kangaroo.

Tom Cronan, our class representative to the Alumni Council, splits his professional time between his law practice and a completely unrelated management consulting practice which deals with growth management problems facing company owners. Tom and wife Janet have two daughters, Moira, a freshman at Syracuse, and Kerry.

El Presidente, Dick Glovsky, is looking for people to host mini-reunions around the country. Anyone interested can contact Dick or me. Dick also sent word about the latest work of Dimitri Gerakaris. His commemorative sculpture to celebrate the activities of the Window Shop, Longfellow's Village Blacksmith, and the Cambridge Center for Adult Education can be seen at 56 Brattle Street, Cambridge, Mass. The Window Shop was formed in the mid-twentieth century to aid refugees from Europe. The building was bought in 1972 by the Cambridge Center. In 1827, it was occupied by Dexter Pratt, the subject of Longfellqw's poem "The Village Blacksmith." Dimitri takes elements from all three to create an impressive 14x22-foot wrought-iron sculpture. The work was dedicated on May 22. Dimitri has received much acclaim for his public art pieces and this latest work will be no exception.

Giff Foley sent me something but I lost it. Sorry about that.

A final note: I was successful in my bid for a school board seat in Deny. Keep those card and letter coming!
