This month, some good news, some no news, and some bad news, in that order.
Dave Abbott has been elected president of the Colorado Section of the American Institute of Professional Geologists for 1987. Dave writes "I am the regional geologist for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission which means I am an inhouse consultant looking into whether claims about the money one can make from gold in mines or oil in wells, etc., have any validity. I run into classmates Lonny Donovan and Erik Carlson now and again in Denver. They are both practicing law and seem to be doing well." Dave also sympathized with my lack of information for this column and suggested that Dave Prentice send his overflow my way.
Ted Baehr's book Getting the Word Out has just been published by Harper and Row. Its subtitle is The Minister's MediaHandbook, and it shows how to use television, radio, print, and sermons to persuasively and creatively communicate the Good News. Ted is Chairman/CEO of Good News Communications in Atlanta, GA., and has three sons, Pierce, James, and Robert. In addition to writing, Ted has radio and television shows and is genuinely enjoying life. If you are interested in finding out more about his work, his address is 2876 Mabry Road, NE, Atlanta, GA 30319.
The Alumni Records.Office has lost track of several classmates. I will print three or four names each month. If you know their whereabouts, please drop me a line. Today's names are: Koussai G.Abdel-Razzak, Mark Anderson, James F.Barlow, Paul B. Butler Jr., and J. GaryCherry Jr.
Finally and sadly, I must report the death of Dave Lieberman. Dave passed away November 11, 1986 after a long illness. I didn't know Dave at Dartmouth, but he was a regular in the class section at the homecoming game. We will miss him.
