Guess what!? It worked!! By fabricating news I was able to get the real scoop! I recently heard from Jody Karp, who called from New Mexico to fill me in on their reallife happenings. Jody (and husband DaveMagnus) had a baby boy named Ben, who is now over six months old. Dave is running a tertiary care eye clinic, and jody is working part-time as a consultant to quarterman stables, helping them run their businesses. She keeps up her own riding and is finding motherhood to be "wonderful." Luckily Jody took the false news all with good humor.

And now for a classmate who has not taken the column with such good humor: She was quite disgruntled over my mentioning the availability of Sandy Helve's family cottage on a lake in New England, and wrote, "tacky, tacky, tacky. And shame on you for getting sucked into this abuse of the class notes." Unfortunately, DianeTodd did not include any news with her complaint; but, as a token of my sincere apology, I thought I would mention that she has a 1982 Volvo wagon for sale. If anyone is interested, call me. (Oops! Tacky, tacky, tacky!)
