Writing these notes in mid-March (unusually warm for New Hampshire), I find it hard to realize that by the time they are printed our grand and glorious 70th will be only a month away. It's still early to make any firm attendance prediction. The preliminary registration returns show a much higher percentage of regrets than acceptances, but the returns on cards sent out this month will surely show a goodly increase in projected attendance.

A most upbeat (as usual) note from SigSigler expresses "sad, sad, sad" regrets that he and Betty "residing in a comfortable retirement home with the usual old age ailments" would not be able to come to Hanover from Florida in June. Sig enclosed two snapshots taken 15 years ago by Gugger Fiske at a "D" luncheon in St. Pete, depicting Sig and our well-remembered "Laddie," with a back-to-camera view of Bing Whitaker plus a shot of Doug Stover

If those of you who make it to Hanover for our 70th could bring along any photos or other memorabilia of interest (Sig's snaps will be on view), they will be most welcome. Alice Weymouth plans to bring an album of photos, programs, and clippings that Bud assembled in 1971, and has just been promised a copy of the 1920 Aegis. She hopes they may stimulate some pleasant memories.

Highly recommended reading for all alumni: 'Dartmouth's Steady Course," by Dean of the Faculty James Wright, in the March issue of this magazine.

Hoping to see as many of you as can possibly make it in June, with love,
