Greetings from Atlanta! Mark your calendars now for two big events. On the evening of November 15, our own Nick Lowery will be among the honorees at the inaugural awarding of Dartmouth's Presidential Medal for Outstanding Achievement and Leadership. This gala event will be held at Lincoln Center in New York and will include cocktails and a dinner dance. A great issues seminar will be held the next day. Let's all go show our support for Nick and Dartmouth! Also plan on attending our 15 th Reunion June 19-21. Lock in those cheap airfares now!

The Atlanta paper carried a notice that Barbara Day Hoffman had joined Invesco Capital Management in Atlanta. After a number of phone calls, I determined that Barb did join Invesco, but is in their Denver office, managing investment portfolios. Barb stays busy juggling the demands of her job and two children (the second child, a girl, was born in january). Barb manages one fund herself and is assistant manager on a health care fund which is currently the nation's top performer.

I was fortunate to find Scott MacFarlane visiting Barb for dinner. Scott was in Denver for a seminar put on by his new employer, Carrier air conditioners. Scott earned his M.B.A. from UVA this past june, and just made the move to Memphis, where he manages a Carrier plant. Scott and his wife stay busy with three daughters (ages 7, 4, and 1). However, he is somewhat disappointed with the lack of Dartmouth people in Memphis.

Barb also passed along news of SusieFreidlander, who is living in New York City and running operations for Blumberg financial services. She also reported that BarbaraGilson was just married to Rich Rollins. Both Barbara and Rich are professional photographers living in Portland, Ore. Sounds like a great place to live and work.

Finally, I found Jim Lattin at home in California. Jim is focusing on two big events this fall the first birthday of his son, and his tenure review at Stanford Business School. Jim modestly said he was concerned about getting tenure, but I've heard through the grapevine that he is an excellent professor. Jim specializes in consumer marketing, especially data analysis of all the mountains of data that packaged goods companies gather about us through couponing and check-out scanning-Jim's family, teaching, and research keep him very busy, but he does stay in touch with SteveCeurvorst, who works at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh. Steve has two children, Luke and Sarah. Jim tracks Steve's progress in child rearing, since Steve's younger child is only one month older than Jim's son.

Well that's the news. Send more!
