Greetings from Atlanta! This month I have received even more news from you. Keep it up! Marty Cole sent news of his recent election to partner at Arthur Andersen Consulting, where Marty spe- cializes in government consulting. His specialty explains why he is living in Austin, Tex., the state capital. Marty and his wife, Terri, are enjoying the Texas life. I also received a letter from Denise Ruzicka-Hayes announcing a baby boom among the North Mass '78s. Denise gave birth to Clark Lowell on June 6. Since her first son, Clinton, is only 18 months, Denise is keeping very busy. Always the adventurer, Denise and her husband, Paul, have already had the boys out sailing. Somehow among all this, Denise finds time to work three days a week for the State of Connecticut, addressing long-range water supply planning. Denise also reported that Jane Fredrick Rodas had a son, Peter, this spring. Jane and Remyalso have a three-year-old daughter, Erica. They live in Ridgefield and Jane is currently on leave from her law firm. Denise also sent news of Martha Post, who gave birth to Evan Jacob Laux in July. Martha and her husband live in LaHonda, Calif.
Dan Galyon also sent news of two major changes in his life. He has finally finished his training in neurosurgery, and is going into private practice. He has also recently married. In the small-world department, Dan's new wife was a classmate of HelenAndrews Noble in medical school. I found this bit of news when I called Helen, who was just home with her week-old son, Bill. Helen and her husband, Ken, are living in Silver Spring, Md. Helen is currently taking an eight-week leave of absence from her third year of residency in internal medicine. Sounds like a busy life! Helen passed along news of Carol Hillman VanDyke, who with her husband, Neil, is running a family- owned inn (The Golden Eagle Resort) m Stowe, Vt. That sounds like a great place to live and raise two kids. Also in the baby department, I spoke to Rene Martinez, hus- band of Barbie Snyder Martinez, who re- ported that they have a new baby and a new sailboat. Another husband with baby news was Arnold Morris, husband of Kim Emerson Morris. The Morrises have a tenmonth-old son, Robert. Kim is a Wall Street bond analyst for Paine Webber.
In trying to reach Kristin Yost McCesney, in Philadelphia, I spoke to her husband, Peter. The McChesneys are packing to move to Paris. At Dartmouth Kristin studied French in Toulouse. This vital information was stored away in the computers of her employer, PeatMarwick. When they needed a French-speaking American, Kristin's name-popped out of the computer, and the rest is history. The McChesneys and their one-year-old son will be residing at 72 Rue Saint Charles, Paris 75015.
I called Joyce Green Mac Donald, in Louisville, Ky. She has recently moved into a new house, and has also completed her Ph.D. in English literature. She is now a professor at the University of Kentucky, and commutes to Lexington three days a week to teach. I also reached Curt Oberg at home in Cambridge, Mass. Curt is a vice president with Spaulding & Slye, where he primarily handles real estate leasing. Curt and his wife, Sherri, recently returned from a camera safari in Kenya. The trip included a hike up Mt. Kenya, a steep 16,000-foot peak. Curt gave me news of other classmates. Lou Panella was recently appointed chief operating officer of Boston Private Bank. Tom Garden is living in Andover, Mass., with his wife, Carlotta, and three kids. He's a partner with Linpro, a real estate development company. Jeff Nadherny has recently graduated from the Harvard School of Education and plans to teach in the Boston schools. Also involved in education is Rob Ceplikas, who has finally left the Hanover plain, and is attending Stanford's School of Education. Drew Breen and his wife are both doctors on Boston's South Shore. Well, that's the news.
