When the 1992 Winter Olympics start up next year, keep an eye out for Liz Mclntyre's name. Somewhere amidst the countless "official sponsor" commercials and the bizarre exhibition events like that shuffleboard-on-ice thing that debuted in '88, Liz just might be skiing for the U.S. Team. She finished second at the U.S. National Freestyle ski championships last winter and is a candidate for the Olympic team.
Louie Crosier, meanwhile, is the latest in a growing list of'87 authors. After graduation Louie returned to his alma mater, Concord Academy, to work as a dorm supervisor and coach. This year, he has published Casualtiesof Privilege, a collection of sixteen essays on life at elite American prep schools written by current and past students. The essays offer a frank account of the social and academic pressures felt at these institutions today.
Evan Azriliant checked in recently from New York, where he is beginning his final year of law school. He spent the summer researching and working in futures markets, and he plans to continue trading commodity futures and doing tax work during the school year. Evan has apparently abandoned a career in comedy despite a memorable stand-up routine in Collis involving the Gumby doll.
Evan also mentioned that Tom Palisi is a scientist for Merck and that Craig Budner is practicing law in Texas.
Colette Bourquin seems to keep tabs on just about everyone. Even though this makes her a natural for the FBI, she has been working at Sports Illustrated, where she runs into Bob Mitchell and Margaret Hastings, who are photo editors there. Brian Hicks is nearby at Fortune magazine, and he rooms with FrankDoyle, who is hard at work at Columbia Business School.
Colette reports that Amy Heiserman and Marie Trexler vacationed in France over the summer. Amy is a media planner for Young & Rubicam, and Marie is getting her UVA MBA ASAP (FYI, OK?).
But wait! There's more: Mary McArtor is teaching French at a prep school in Tennessee and is considering medical school. Jeff Bower is living in Canada with his wife, Jennifer, and is in dental school there. Maria Nisi is back in the U.S. after a teaching stint in Africa and is thinking of interviewing with the Foreign Service. Anne Eldridge has been studying for the New York bar exam following her graduation from Duke Law School.
Continuing from the world of academia, Kate Brew has started her final year at the Kellogg Business School, and Mike Quigley has begun his third year at Harvard Law School. Sue Bagas has emerged from medical school where she has been immersed since graduation. Sue, along with Chris DiGiovanni, Tom Miner, and Jane Ho, finished the joint Dartmouth/Brown program during the spring. Next, three years of residency, and Sue plans to focus on pediatrics
