When you're at an outdoor bazaar in Bangkok, surrounded by people selling snakes, dogs, and other stuff like that, and you're looking for a good used book to help tide you over until your next adventure, you probably wouldn't expect to run across a copy of the Dartmouth Alumni Magazine, where your name had been printed in the '90 class column. Well, believe it or not, Mikes Kanarick and Uram did just that.

With a full meal in Bangkok going for about 12 Baht, the Magazine was a real luxury at 75 Baht, or about $3.00 U.S. At least they don't charge any more than the Dartmouth Bookstore. The two Mikes have moved to an apartment at 71st and Columbus in New York. Kanarick's at Fordham Law.

More news from the world of law school: Jeremy Hockensmith is at Washington and Lee Law; and Tri Thornhill made law review at U. Florida. Harris Siskind is also at U. Florida Law. Mike Lee is at Northwestern Law.

Before entering Columbia Law, GregGoldberg is spending this year in Colorado, trying to "get all the camping, hiking, skiing, etc., in before I have to go deal with New York." He spent the year following graduation in Switzerland and studied international politics and history before returning to Colorado and working for the U.S. Forest Service, planning timber sales and chasing beetles throughout three mountainous counties.

A couple more of our classmates have joined the Worldleach program. Catherine Youssef and Christopher Newton are spending this year teaching English in Poland. World Teach, a non-profit organization based at Harvard, is teaching English to Polish high-school students and teachers.

Ted Carleton returned to the East Coast for the summer months and wrote me a note about several '90 classmates. He said PeteHarvey and Anna Cathcart should now be in Barcelona, Spain, looking for jobs with the Olympics there. Chris Hogan and MikeLowenthal spent the summer in Hanover working for the University Press of New England. Unnamed sources report Ted will most likely be found on the ski slopes in Sun Valley this season.

Carrie Tower, back from Sotheby's in London, is working for the accounting firm of KPMG Peat Marwick in New York. She's living with Liz Portland. Kathy Heafey has moved to Lincoln Park, a Chicago suburb, with a friend from grade school.

Lt. Chris Henrich moved from Fort Benning Ga., to Fort Polk in Louisiana at the beginning of September. Before that he went through Ranger school, which involved two and a half months of eating one meal a day and getting only one or two hours of sleep.

Sarah Fjelstul is working for Honeywell in Minneapolis. She's an operations planning specialist in the commercial buildings group. The company installs stuff like temperature control, security, and lighting equipment in office buildings, and Sarah's job involves analyzing the financial benefits and drawbacks of various installations. Sarah's only complaint was that she hasn't been playing enough golf lately.

Kelin Piccard is in her second year as a research analyst at Temple Barker & Sloane/ Strategic Planning Associates in Washington, D.C. Her job involves helping other companies develop competitive strategies. She lives with Lissa Kane, who works for McKinsie Consulting; and Steig Colberg, who was a Reynolds Scholar in inner Mongolia last year, studying the classical Mongolian and classical Chinese languages in the Mandarin Chinese dialect.

Craig Nolan and Kasie Henderson were married in August at the Highland Pavillion in Montclair, N.J. '9os too numerous to mention were in attendance. Henderson

I know there are not many shopping days left 'til Christmas, but that doesn't preclude your writing me a short note telling me what you've been doing lately and your plans for the future. And don't be shy about writing about yourself—your classmates (especially this one!) will be glad you did.
